Staff, Emily and Sophie were great. Interesting conversations. God bless.
Sleeping arrangements very basic but excellent value for money.
Very clean rooms, quick and easy check in, friendly staff, excellent value for money and meals in the pub were very good. Plenty of space for a family of four and kids loved the bunk beds.
excellent beds good kitchen good wifi great location to explore the northern Lake District
bed sheets and breakfast not provided
Rooms sparse but adequate, shared facilities good. Inn looked busy and good quality.
A little off the beaten track for our stay, kitchen could have been bigger but okay for one night. Not much parking available. Breakfast at Inn could have been offered.
Sorted out breakfast at the guest house next door by chatting with locals in the White horse bar, good real ales!
Noisey birds on the roof in the morning!
It had everything you needed, was clean and had amazing views
The view, the remoteness and the local charm of the Inn and the charm of its locals. The food was good. Do try the Inn's slow-cooked meals!
The kitchen smelled a bit funky but was otherwise fully functionable.
Very nice helpful staff.Stayed in the bunkhouse which was fine for what we paid. bunk beds comfortable. good value for money and an ideal base for exploring the area. We ate in the pub one night and the food was lovely.Kids enjoyed food too and playing dominos and other games available in the pub.
Showers/toilets could have been a bit cleaner. Fridge wasnt cold enough and there was no dial to turn it up.also no glasses in kitchen for cold drinks only mugs some chipped.
The front view couldn't be better than that , it was great. Toilets were clean . Presure of water in shower was great. Friendly stuff.
The light in the rooms were too faint . The kitchen was too smelly. There wasn't any internet connection in the rooms
The room was on top of the hill, perfect view for when you wake up in the morning.
I'm not sure if they forgot to give us some bed sheet and duvet, but there were none of those and it was really cold in the morning. I think the heater was centralized so it turns off on its own in the morning and left us freezing inside the room. Other than that everything was alright, too bad tho
Whilst not the ritz, it was perfectly adequate for our needs. Comfortable, clean and peaceful and beautifully located
the bathrooms were new and very clean
the bed linen is not included in the price
Bunkbarn facilities for the price were first class. V impressed. Will now be my usual place to stay when walking/running/climbing in the lakes.
Extremely friendly staff in a superb location for walking. Incredible value for money. Would strongly recommend.
Superb value and excellent location for any number of activities. Friendly, helpful staff.
No TV to watch rugby in the pub. However, a mile down the road in Threlkeld - the Salutation inn has a TV with Sky sports.
cheap cheerful good food friendly staff
thin walls (you could hear the toilet flush) Weird doors ( I know it was originally a stable)
The food served was beautiful and the staff very friendly when we arrived. Facilities were basic but clean and working, couldn't ask for much more.
I personally didn't sleep well as the latch on the door woke me up every time anyone went in/out and I could hear people in the bathroom next door. I'm quite a light sleeper though and no-one else in the group had a problem. You also have to go outside to access both the kitchen and bathroom from your own room.
The location was great, the accommodation was adequate, the staff were friendly, walks from the doorstep, nice pub seconds away, great for a budget.
For £10 per head, nothing to moan about!
The price and location.
The key pads on the doors.
I was a little anxious when booking this that it would be dirty and cold, but it turned out to be clean and cosy. The staff at the pub were friendly and helpful, and the accommodation itself was better than expected. The room was not big (we had 2 bunk beds for 2 adults and 2 children aged 4 and 9 - if there had been a third we would not have got through the door) but it was clean and the heater was more than adequate to keep the space warm. The kitchen was well-equipped, including cutlery and plates as well as a hob and microwave. It also had a drier (token operated - 1 pound for 45 minutes) which was very useful after a day of hiking in the rain. Superb value for money and well positioned for the northern lakes. If you are staying here, I recommend bringing an old blanket to use as a floor covering, and observe good boot discipline at the door.
The outside lighting was inconsistent - on one evening we were returning to the room after eating in the pub, and the car park light was not on, and in the darkness our four year old ran face-first into a car wing mirror (he was ok, just shaken). Also, the wooden steps up to the rooms had chichen wire attached to prevent a slip hazard, but it was coming away from the steps, and became a trip hazard instead - that needs sorting.
it was a new experience ...
the "room" is a horse stable adopted for living by putting bunk beds inside ... we were disapointed as we did expect to sleep in a house not a shag - there were lots of spiders crawling around, four our taste this was a bit too much nature - there are no sitting places inside for breakfast, you had too consume it outside - therefore only suitable for nice weather - we had to pay extra for bedlinen and blanket
Great place for a pub meal and to get a good sleep after a day out exploring
only 1/2 of toaster worked!
Easy to get to and ideal for us as a stop over after a holiday in Scotland.
Noisy extractor fan running all night, is there a wiring problem?
Staff seemed uninterested. Accommodation was freezing and full of bugs.
