The White Horse Inn staff were very friendly. I had a lovely evening meal and breakfast. The room was comfortable. The stairs to the room were a bit awkward with a suitcase .

Food was excellent and good value. Atmosphere was great, friendly service The spiral stairway from the restauarant to the rooms upstairs was horrendous. So steep and very narrow steps. You could not climb and lift a suitcase at the same time as there was no room. Elderly guests be warned..yes there was another entrance that was accessible outside..fine if the weather is good!!!

Characterful, great atmosphere in the bar, nice mix of locals + visitors, great quality food and drink at very reasonable prices, made to feel very welcome, lovely room, over the bar but no problem at all (the ear plugs provided made us laugh, obviously a concession to the serial complainers!). A thoroughly enjoyable stay, if you like an honest simple country inn with no pretensions the White Horse is highly recommended.

This was our second visit to the White Horse Inn and probably won't be our last. We really like the friendliness of the people and their willingness to listen and help. We loved the room which was unfussy, yet full of character and extremely comfortable. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, with an excellent breakfast included in the room charge. We also loved the scenic riverside location and the farm animals owned by the landlords. The bar had a wood burning stove at one end which kept things cosy and a great atmosphere during opening hours without excessive noise. Our room was above the bar and whilst we could hear the hubbub, it never got too much and ended at a reasonable time. We had two nights there and came home feeling relaxed and refreshed. There is really very little to complain about. The inn is a historic building that oozes charm. It isn't the lap of luxury - no big soft sofas or huge tv screens (thank goodness), and the collection of curios and antiques in the bar get a little dusty, but the atmosphere is so good, it hardly matters. Our only real gripe was that food had to be ordered at the bar, which wasn't easy as the place gets quite packed with regulars propping up the bar. It's all very friendly, but we would have preferred to order at the table.

Our room was very comfortable and warm. We took our 2 dogs and it was perfect for them with the country walks. The breakfasts were excellent with as much tea and coffee as you want. We would stay again. The owner was extremely nice.
