    Good place to visit.

Good place to visit. Cathedral and Bishop's Palace are really lovely. City centre has a lovely vibe and there are lots of shops and restaurants. It's very handy for exploring the rest of the area and only a short drive from Cheddar Gorge.

We visited Wells Cathedral, which is an absolutely stunning place, the staff are very welcoming and the donation system is very reasonable. The only thing I would say is if there is anyone with Auditory sensory issue, check if they are cleaning the organ before going in as this did dampen my experience not knowing at the time. The library is up a set of s prial stairs so not accessible, however if you have someone willing to run up and take some pictures, it does look like a wonderful place.

Wells is a beautiful, small city, dominated by it's immense Cathedral. We very much enjoyed both. We spent time within the Cathedral, enjoying it's beauty, a service, and a concert. The shops and restaurants were varied and good, and the market exceptional. The Bishop Palace Gardens were our final treat with it's restful water gardens. All in all an ideal short holiday destination.

The location is excellent, just a minute walk from the cathedral, but still quiet enough. The hotel was very good value and stylishly fitted out. What sets this hotel apart from the others was the exceptional restaurant (Rugantinos) below. The quality of the food and service were outstanding. Would recommend to anyone who loves home style Italian food. I had triangular ravioli with truffle oil which was superb. I’m almost thinking of going back to Wells just to try more of their dishes!

First of all the owner showed us warm hospitality. I really enjoyed the location. The area surroundings around our cute apartment, was beyond my expectations. The countryside was beautiful. I even took a walk and it was so close to the city center. Anyone planning a trip to Wells, consider this cozy studio apartment. Be warned that this place is a gem and probably will book up quickly as the tourist season approaches.

We stayed at the Woodstore for a short break before dropping our daughter off to her first year at University. An amazing house, spotlessly clean and perfect for a short stay. Very close to the beautiful city of Wells and its pubs and restaurants. The ability to use the pool and sauna was a massive plus after a day's touring. The welcome pack, which included treats for dogs and people was very welcome.

Sarah, hotel owner was fantastic, couldn't do enough for us. Even made her washing machine available to us. Terrific room, tastefully decorated with extras. Great bathroom, clean and functional. All staff in hotel were welcoming. Parking was an issue but made easy with staff assistance. Easy walk up to market square and stunning Wells Cathedral

The hotel was in a very old historic building and its terrace and some rooms directly faced Wells Cathedral for outstanding views. Location could not be better. The breakfast was good but a bit expensive - but so was Wells in general. We ate at the restaurant one night, on the terrace and it was very good. The restaurant is very popular.

The room was amazing. We needed a rest and relax and as soon as we got into the room we were 100% relaxed. Wonderful bedding and bed. Slept very well. The staff were all friendly with an amazing choice of ales and ciders. Breakfast was beautifully cooked. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Wells.

Everything you could think of was provided. It was a beautiful apartment right in the centre of Wells. It was spacious with lots of personal touches which made it very comfortable. My sister and I often stay at The Swan Hotel in Wells but this apartment will now be our first go to when booking further trips to Wells.

The property is a rare find only 2 miles out of Wells and on the edge of a small village with a few great pubs and farms all around. The working flour mill grinds spelt and whole wheat flour as its done for centuries, that goes into delicious breads served with breakfast.
