Beside the Seaside, Beside the Sea
A favoured holiday spot since the Victorian era, Blackpool is a traditional English seaside town. Amusement arcades and crazy golf courses line the promenade and dotted between them are plenty of places to pick up fresh fish ‘n’ chips and Blackpool rock.
On the 5-mile sandy beach, children can enjoy Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides. Old-fashioned entertainment at its best. At the other end of the scale is the Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a fairground complex comprising a variety of rides, including The Big One - once the world’s tallest and steepest rollercoaster. They actually had to get permission from nearby Blackpool Airport to erect it!
More seaside pursuits are on the town’s 3 piers, one of which is Grade II listed. However, the most recognisable landmark is the Blackpool Tower which houses a circus, 4D cinema and a world-renowned ballroom, to name a few. Modelled on the Eiffel Tower, it is spectacularly lit during the annual Blackpool Illuminations, when the whole town is bathed in bright lights. The trams plying the prom are also lit. Look out for the one shaped like a ship.

Blackpool has everything family's need me and my hubby walked from the grand Hotel which I would highly recommend by the way to stargate although it was busy the sun was shining on the way we stopped at the velvet coaster and had a pint on the terrace.

Blackpool is Blackpool !! It is a Marmite resort but you will never know it if you don't try it. Eating out is infinitely variable and all tastes are catered for. The tram service and it's staff is brilliant so part the car and use the tram

We really enjoyed the Blackpool Dungeons and the experience was truly amazing. The beach was lovely and we really enjoyed taking daily walks up and down it. Great place for kids. Can be expensive. So I would recommend only suitable for a short trip. Such as a weekend or few days. My son loves Blackpool as everything on your doorstep. However entry fees can be pricey so bare this in mind and choose wisely when booking events and things to do. We enjoyed our stay in Blackpool. There are plenty of places to eat to suit all tastes. I would recommend the Ardwick pub. It's not far from the Blackpool tower. The beer, larger and stouts are £1.80 a pint.AAnonymous

The room was amazing and huge and very very clean. The staff were helpful and very kind. Our remote was not working for the tv so they replaced the whole tv as there was an issue. We had an evening meal at The Gurkha Hotel and that was one of the best meals whilst in Blackpool, well worth the money and the food was amazing.
