We received a warm but not fussy welcome. Our room had been upgraded to the house which was clean, warm and comfortable and soon felt like home. good choice at breakfast - which lasted us all day!
friendly and good service
As a solo traveller I had the benefit of a double bed in a larger than average single room with a spacious en-suite which included a bath. Plenty of hot water and good selection of toiletries. Breakfast was taken in the main building and was nicely cooked with good quality ingredients. Guide reccomended the Masons Arms for dinner great food reasonable prices, but, need to book.
I had no dislikes at all.
Friendly and welcoming staff, good facilities, homely feel to the lounge and breakfast room, and convenient location
Disturbed sleep by occasional noise from passing traffic early in the morning
Cleanliness, comfortable accommodation, lovely breakfast and warm welcome.
Lots of parking friendly, polite staff
No note on the door to say the proprietors were out and a time when they would be back
Breakfast very good a lot of choice
Road noise from main road in unit we stayed in
The hotel was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and well stocked with beverages and biscuits. The full breakfast was excellent and the atmosphere was outstanding. Many Thanks for a great stay. Denise and Howard
Everything was excellent
Clean room & bathroom, single bed comfortable, lots of hot water. Good breakfast. Reasonable cost. Off street parking/location.
As a single, was given a very pokey (door doesn't even open completely) little courtyard converted room. Size not an issue for 1 night, but on a warmish Sept afternoon and evening/night the room was dankly chill -colder inside than out. It doesn't get any sun during the day except an hour at breakfast it seems. No heating on yet and at night I had to wear a jumper over my nightdress under the duvet and socks just to be warm enough to sleep. Totally spoiled an otherwise nice place. Owner not interested when told politely about the unpleasant night: "sorry about that". Also only 1 window openable, no ventilation in bathroom.
I liked the lady who checked me in, the room and the breakfast was great.
Shelley very helpful and coped well when her workload increased unexpectedly; room 5 with 6 foot four-poster very comfortable; two easy chairs in room; recent re-furbishment and new carpets; attractive decor; good breakfast.
The groaning cistern! After re-filling the cistern the pipes started making awful noises, cured by opening the cold tap in the basin briefly. Shelley was grateful for the report as the plumber had supposedly fixed it earlier. The grout just behind the basin and bath taps is becoming discoloured and needs a scrub with bleach. Very minor problems in an enjoyable stay.
Everything about this Guest House was superb. Shelley really has got a great place here, with good décor with nice finishing touches. The attention to detail was excellent, as was the "Full English" breakfast. Would not hesitate to stay again. Strongly recommended !
Nothing to dislike !
The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious and airy. Lovely breakfast if a little conjested. Plenty of hot water.Very friendly staff.Enjoyed our 4 night stay.
Noisy plumming when the toilet was flushed. Difficult wardrobe doors.
We had a lovely room in the courtyard. Clean and homely with a nice modern feel too. Also in the room was the usual Tea and coffee etc together with a large bottle of water, this was a very nice touch. If we are in the area again we will definitely stay at The White House.
Lovely place, pleasantly suprised when the room was in fact an out building, made it more private & the bathroom had been recently refurbished. Really kind and helpful host who booked us taxis and offered help whenever necessary. Would stay again
I was running late to check in and the staff waited until 11pm to check me in a show us to our room even though the desk closes at 9pm. Very helpful staff!!!!
the friendliness of the staff the cleanliness
I think more people at breakfast time would be useful to help things run smoothly
Was so pleasantly surprised! Clean and modern friendly guesthouse with some lovely touches and a fab breakfast
We were made to feel like one of the family. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
Upgraded as there was a re shuffle of rooms... giant 4 poster comfy bed. Awesome cooked breakfast. Very modern decor. Would defiantly recommend this hotel.
We loved it here. We were made so welcome, in spite of our early arrival, and felt totally at home. The staff happily married professionalism with friendliness, which is not an easy combination to achieve. It was lovely being able to walk into the village to the pubs, cafes and restaurants; and we were given very helpful information on what to see in the area.
Pleasant welcome from the owner. The single room was an annexe to the main building. It had all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was excellent.
The only minor observation is that the shower was part of the bath taps set. I always have a problem adjusting the temperature.
