The location and views were stunning. The breakfast was one of the best I have had. Good evening meals which are simple but plentiful and good value.
Could hear some noise from bar in room but it had stopped by a reasonable hour and wasn't too loud
The staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. Food was freshly cooked, sensible size portions of good pub food. The location is right next to the golf course with lovely views, but a bit far out of the centre if you want to walk there, but not really a problem. We will stay there again next time we visit Whitby.
Nicely positioned on the edge of town next the sea. Peaceful. Lovely modern room. Friendly service. Easy walking distance to town. Will come again
Great position with easy bus to Town Exceptional staff Excellent food
The sea view, the spacious room, the charming staff and the great breakfast. I really can't criticize theplace. The restaurant is obviously very popular, though we didn't eat there. We'd definitely go again.
A bit of a hike to the centre of Whitby, especially if you have mobility problems.
Very welcoming, comfortableand lovely location with extensive viewstowards sSandsend. Would definitely visit again.
Great staff very friendly, nothing too much trouble. Lovely Hotel and location. Food excellent good breakfast Demi the waitress was outstanding really attentive and bubbly.
Kippers at breakfast - yummy
good food, pleasant staff. will rebook in spring
the room was excellent with good facilities. The staff were very friendly and approachable. Breakfast choice was good and the option of having a evening meal at the white house was an added bonus.
The room being seperate to the hotel.
accommodation etc no complaints staff very friendly
we came to Whitby fishing & wanted an early breakfast only to be told breakfast didn't start till 8am, we were on the boat at 7.30am
All the staff were so friendly and helpful and the view from our room was fantastic. The food was very good too. Will definately go back again.
This was a 50th birthday celebration - the hotel is excellent all the staff we great and the food & drinks were delicious.. The location is great with lovely view - Thanks to all the team for a lovely stay.
staff were helpful & friendly & went the extra mile to ensure we had a good stay. Breakfast was superb & the bedroom was roomy & comfortable.
Room with no windows negated the fact we were in a nice location.
The white house is presented well, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The views from the hotel are gorgeous and is situated close to Whitby town. The room had plenty of space and a good value for money. We had a meal in the evening and breakfast, the food is very nice and with generous portions.
The only thing that let the room down was the bed, This was uncomfortable which caused us a restless night.
position excellent Staff absolutely fantastic pleasant friendly helpful Nothing was to much trouble Excellent food and large portions owners only been their about a year and i am sure it will only get even better
Very soft mattress Over bath tap shower very poor Mirror over sink to high Bathroom lighting poor to have wet shave with hand basin very small bathroom over all not good
i could'nt find any fault friendly staff clean hotel throughout great food ideal location and to round it off before a good nights sleep a cracking pint or two of real ale we will return in the near future.will recommend cheers.
Staff were very helpful, room very nice with great views, food was very nice and well cooked and served by your friendly staff will stay there again thanks
We were able to check in a lot earlier than anticipated. Friendly and welcoming staff. Centre within nice walking distance via a coastal route. Meant we could just park the car at the hotel and leave it.
We had a very comfortable stay but I feel the accommodation was overpriced for what is after all a pub with rooms, and 2 star, not 3 as advertised. On the first night we booked a meal in the restaurant and were still waiting an hour later when I asked where our food was. We were offered a free drink for the inconvenience. For the meal I asked if I could have the steak with potatoes and veg instead of chips, onion rings etc. They said they couldn't do this, even though other dishes had potatoes and veg! Just didn't understand that at all! The food wasn't bad at all when it arrived- pub food, but acceptable and not overpriced. The staff we spoke to were all very good indeed- friendly and helpful. We paid for the best room and it was very spacious with a seating area, spa bath and wonderful sea views. Lovely to have dogs accepted also-
Location was stunning, with one aspect overlooking the Golf Course while 2 windows to the right, the sea. At this time in Oct the on site parking was unbeatable, especially since the introduction of on street parking fees. After 11pm. it was also very quiet.
There were no electric shaver points in the rooms. The duvet, no doubt excellent in really low temperatures was very hot as the ambient temps. were unseasonably high!
Ease of parking and walk into town along the cliff
Room allocated only had a skylight, not a window
