We had an excellent meal of steak etc very tasty, the breakfast was good too. The bar was very cosy and the beer good so could not fault that at all.
Unfortunately the bedroom was very warm all night and could not turn it down due to broken radiator valve. Also en suite left a lot to be desired shower too small my head touched to roof and I am only 5.6 ,but all in all a good stay and would not be put of returning.
Located close to the NEC yet in a peaceful village. Room, bed and linens were immaculate and not having to go looking for somewhere to eat was a bonus - highly recommend.
After a long day working at the NEC - felt like home from home. Wonderful food and very comfortable.
The shower in the room I stayed in was a little on the small side! Good job I don't suffer from claustrophobia!!
The 'cottage room' accommodation was separate to the main Inn, so no noise late at night. The restaurant food was very good and the young waitress was helpful and smiling . Definitely use again :-)
Staff, real ale, choice and quality of food for dinner, breakfast ,comfy bed, location.
Draughty windows without curtains or secondary glazing.Lack of comfy place to sit, had to use bed and then couldn't see television properly.
Great breakfast, quick and helpful staff.
Mattress a bit soft for me.
Staff very Helpful....Good Pub Food..Nice Location...Great Breakfast
Room Cheaply Furnished Odd mix of Furnture...Bathroom very cramped and a bit tatty.. mould in shower...4* Hotel Prices for 2" Pub Accomodation
Excellent service. First class food.
Actually, most of it! Room was good, breakfast was great. Decent beer in pub. Really liked it and would stay again.
Mi9ght be a bit isolated, but a pleasant drive from the NEC.
Lovely Charming Village Inn , very freindly Staff and Cosy Bar. Thankyou
The food and bar staff in the hotel were very good and attentive even though the bars were always full due to a wedding in the church next door. Breakfast was terrific as was the black pudding.
The major area of complaint was the noise at night - if you try to sleep in the rooms above the bars then do not go to bed till 2.00am - on this occasion the landlady and her friends in the public bar had a noisy and drunken discussion till the early hours keeping the hotel guests awake all the time - not a good stay at all.
The staff, the food and the local people. Everything was as good if not better than we hoped for. The pub was charming.
Good pub beer & atmosphere, quirky rooms, decent food & cheerful staff in a great location for easy access to the NEC etc..
Bedroom was icy on arrival and took ages to warm up, we had to ask for extra blankets and were given another duvet which had a dead flea in it! Next day the previous days cups & glasses were ignored by the cleaners and we had to ask for clean ones. This spoiled what was a nice little place to stay at for a few days.
Good selection of real ales. Excellent breakfast, food and menu good. Staff very warm and friendly. Good value for money. Good location.
Chalet style rooms a bit small.
Evening Meal & Beer Breakfast (& Cook) First Class
No greeting/welcome from sour faced young female bar staff, apparant reservation for table for dinner did not exist although plenty of room. Pleasant waiting staff but slow to attend and enquire as to if everthing was OK? Lumpy bed, very tiny room and tiny ensuite and a TV with a 12" screen??? Wifi problems (probably not TWL fault).
At this Inn you can guarantee a friendly welcome to a building with loads of character and atmosphere. Brilliant value for money, lovely food and a charming service by all staff young or old. Enjoy a Doombar Ale in the pub and relax!! Top Notch!!
The only fault was the Wifi, with no password protection I think everyone in the village is getting involved. I think this is the owners trying to be friendly more than anything and this can be easily sorted.
The service was first class and the hotel had great atmosphere. Friendly efficient service and GREAT FOOD! All freshly cooked with some very interesting meals to choose from. I will definitely use this hotel again
Breakfast was excellent and was perfect location to attend a wedding at Hampton Manor.
Main problem was the mattress needed replacing and caused a terrible night's sleep. Other small issues were snagging problems in room like bathroom door off the hinges, lightbulb needed replacing in the bathroom and there was very little shower pressure although a notice was provided to explain this.
Good food friendly staff
Proximity to the NEC, good atmosphere, friendly and obliging staff, good food,
room very small, noisy early morning due to being on flight take off path, very old building with creaky floor boards above and noisy plumbing which was very noticeable during the night.
Location, room, warmth, food, breakfast, staff....... all excellent. Thank you for a fantastic five days away. Would definitely visit again.
Great character property. Helpful friendly owner. Good food with large portions. Good WIFI. Ample free parking. Good choice of ales.
The Staff were very friendly and gave an excellent service.I really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere in the bar and were made welcome by the locals. Good food and drink, thoroughly enjoyed my stay
My room was not in the main building and was very small and smelt damp. Bathroom was tiny and needed some TLC. Rooms in the main building may have been better
Food. Restaurant 400 year old public house. Antique Lucas factory clocking in /out clock. Comfortable Bed Good but small TV
The shower area and bedroom a little small. The local village clock chiming through the night.
Good room wish I had time to use the bar it looked great
