Good room wish I had time to use the bar it looked great
Stayed while going to a wedding at Hampton manor, room was small but nice. Staff were very nice and food was excellent. Would stay again thanks.
Very close to Hampton Manor Friendly staff Near to the train station Great little bar inside the pub
Small room upstairs made getting ready for the wedding quite tricky
Great atmosphere, good food and drink, comfortable accommodation, owner and staff very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
What's not to like? It was great and would go again.
The location for our destination was perfect. The service in the restaurant was very good, the food was very good and there was a good choice of ales in the bar. The atmosphere in the pub and restaurant was very good. There was some noise disturbance (see negatives) but the church bell chiming was pleasant to hear. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. A good and pleasant alternative to the chains.
The aircraft taking off and landing at Birmingham International whilst not as bad as Heathrow or Gatwick did disturb our first night as did the smokers in the beer garden until one of them pointed out that people were trying to sleep. These niggles were more than compensated for by the rest of the stay.
Very polite staff
No wi-fi in the room
Didn't like not having a door on the ensuite bathroom
Nice friendly staff, great place for well behaved dogs to visit, fantastic breakfast.
Cosy bar area. Good food, dog friendly.
Bar noise until the early hours.
Lovely room friendly staff oldie worldly nice breakfast
Great food and beer. Breakfast was good too. Staff friendly courteous and helpful.
WiFi inoperative in my room, so unable to work. Also the bathroom was cramped and the shower only suitable for someone 5'2" !!
price. Not value for money
a good country with great social atmosphere, good bar, great breakfasts, 5mins on train from NEC and 10mins from Birmingham centre, easy to get to from motorway, quiet village
small shower cubicle, room door gaps will be a bit breezy in poor weather as bedroom outside in courtyard
A proper pub with good beer and food. Staff and owner very friendly, efficient and hard working.
What's not to like about it?
History of the hotel and surrounding area. staff friendly and helpful. evening meal very good and good choice available.Enjoyed having a drink and our meal in the Bar.
Recognised the difficulties in a very old building. however if it was impossible to fit a door to the bathroom it would have been nice to have some sort of curtain/partition between the bedroom and en suite bathroom. Considered breakfast somewhat limited regarding choice of cereals and lack of any fruit being available. However the cooked breakfast was fine.
Very welcoming staff great pint of beer lovely food rooms were very cosy and hassle free parking had a great stay thank you to the staff
Nice location, lovely pub, good staff, especially sarah... what a nice lady. ample parking.
menu/food this needs attention...quality and presentation poor...choice limited ... good presentation of simple good quality food would be more appropriate. mattress in room 2 needs replacing, it is clean and new looking but of poor quality, every spring can be felt.... for the price per night.. one expects a decent bed to sleep on.
Very friendly Staff
shower could do with being more powerful, needed shaver socket and more lighting in bathroom
I made this booking for two colleagues and they were really pleased. The hotel and hospitality was first class. They had a very enjoyable stay and the hotel had easy access for business at the NEC.
Brilliant staff and owners, excellent food, clean and quirky rooms, well located, great atmosphere. loved it!
double bed mattress in room 2 is not too comfortable, but everything else makes up for it.....
It was quiet, the room was very comfortable, and the food was excellent. Free wi fi was very useful.
Very friendly staff and great atmosphere at breakfast.
Great old inn with good restaurant and friendly staff
Noisy don't expect quiet nights sleep as bars below rooms open till late doesn't get quiet till 1.00am on w.ends
Friendly, clean and great central location to Birmingham.
