Staff was v ery helpful, accommodating and respectful

Lovely old hotel with large bedroom. Lovely staff. Excellent breakfast.

There was a wedding the night we stayed & the loud music was a bit annoying. Also the smokers that were outside, below our windows, were having a very loud slanging match, preventing sleep.

Room 22 was near to some kind of generator that made a noise all night long.

1. Heating stuck on full in room (no valve to turn down - hotel was aware!), had to have all windows open all night - like a sauna. 2. Had to ask hotel to make up pull-up bed for 4yr old, although I had already phoned to book (£10 extra!) and told it was already made up. Also pull-up bed mattress was 'thin' and would not be suitable if the child was older.

Supper was very disappointing. I was unable to eat what I had ordered (I am not particularly fussy but it was really not good at all) and I was disappointed that no one seemed particularly 'bothered'. At the very least, having removed a plate of practically untouched food I would have thought a 'complimentary' pudding might have been offered. I was not asked why I had left all my food or if there was anything else they could bring me. The beds were dreadfully uncomfortable - mattresses much, much too hard and so both my husband and I had two very poor nights' sleep.

Location of the peaceful Bedroom at the back of the Hotel looking out onto fields and the very friendly staff.

The sausages in my bangers n mash were overcooked.

Although we do not like a soft mattress the one we had was rather too hard. Being addressed as "guys" was rather odd.

Room and bathroom was nice & clean, loved the free wi-fi - food was pretty good too

The room was a bit noisy with people going outside the back door for a smoke...oh, and the smoke drifted into the bedroom

Receptionist was really helpful and friendly on both the afternoon and evening shift. Very cosy pub area.

The shower was awful. Took ages to heat up and was literally just one stream dripping out!

Lovely breakfast, with extensive choice of items. Plenty of large clean towels and a warm cosy room

Beds were uncomfortable and room not you would expect for 4 star rating.
