Noisey bedroom over the function room
The staff were all lovely The hotel was very clean The bed was very comfortable Thje room and bathroom were good for the price.
The food was awful. Both dinner and breakfast were the worst we have experienced for a very long time. A pity as the hotel otherwise was very satisfactory.
Lovely character feel very cosy ,staff were attentive ..would recommend it to friends our 2nd stay ..
The staff were helpful, friendly and couldn't do enough. The food was great, beautifully cooked and presented both at breakfast and dinner. The room was clean and warm and well stocked.
The paint finish in the bathroom was poor. It would have been more comfortable if chairs had been provided just to sit and read or watch T.V.
The bed was really comfortable, room clean and nicely decorated. Staff very friendly and helpful.
With exception of the breakfast which was good, the food was over priced for the quality. It would have been good if it was two or three pounds cheaper. For the prices asked we would expect the meals to be better than we can cook at home they where no where near. Some of the problem was clearly poor quality ingredients! The White Swan was also to far away from other restaurants so we couldn't eat else where and walk back!
You have a lovely environment and your bar staff are great. thanks.
Both my wife and I like to read in the evenings. With a drink in the bar we had to search hard to find somewhere we could enjoy a drink at the same time as a drink. Another small annoyance was that we were never able to sit by the fire, even when the rest of the bar was empty.
Staff, food and accommodation great.
Noise of fan turning on and off all night at rear of building, also bins emptied at 3:30 in the morning.
Staff, the room, public areas and the food and no parking problems.
We had a problem with hot water in the en-suite which only seemed to be available early mornings and early evenings, I think there is a time clock issue. We reported it to reception (they were aware of the problem, obviously others have commented) and we were told to run the tap and hot water would eventually come through. Tried this it did not happen. When the water was available it was instant as you would expect.
A very nice room BUT
Very loud fan running all night outside our bedroom window. Not good at all.
Friendly staff, rooms clean & tidy.
Location Food Staff
WIFI connection in room poor
good location, good choice of food.comfortable rooms.
cleanliness, facilities, location to Arundel
noise of extractor fans external to the room - that went on during the evening (stayed in room 28) Didn't like the fact that we had to wait an hour for food on the Sunday evening and there was no compensation offered and the management of that was poor.
One of the best cooked breakfast I have had in a hotel for a long time. All members of our party had different eggs and they were all spot on!!
I had two hotels in the running the hilton and the White swan. Thinking not really time to swim and reading all reviews we chose the White swan...great choice thank you white swan...superb
Staff, atmosphere, cleanliness, food..everything
Great food - we had a lovely meal when we arrived, and the breakfast was also good with fresh choices including kippers, Eggs Benedict and Vegetarian Breakfast
We spent an hour getting from Arundel to the White Swan, a fourney of just one and half miles. It was not their fault that the road was closed (both sides of the hotel) but they did not appear to know about it, or warn anyone in advance. Their staff were also pretty laid back about our awful experience getting there
Good 3day break very good food freshly cooked and good new menu.
All to our liking
best nights sleep in ages
The level of service from the staff is excellent. I was particuarly impressed by a young lady who was waitressing breakfast and the young man who brought me my cheese platter. The room was good, with a nice view of the Engilsh countryside. The bed was very comfortable and slept very well.
Very minor niggle, but just lick of paint on the room doors wont go amiss as everything else is of good quailty.
We found the White Swan to be in a good position with it's rural location but still quite centrally located for visiting both coast and inland areas. All the staff from managerial to bar were both very polite and accommodating and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them.
We felt that the rooms could do with some serious updating, especially the bathrooms, the public areas were of a good standard. Food and drink, although good quality was very limited and rather expensive for what was on offer, having been informed that half of the menu was not available. We did enjoy our stay but feel this accommodation does not warrant 4* as indicated, albeit we would stay again if in the area.
Staff were polite & always busy
Room was chilly when first arrived & a little musty
Welcoming, attentive staff. Excellent food served. Comfortable room. Great night's sleep.
Have stayed here twice, 1st floor room was nicer than ground floor. Carpet a bit stained.
Overall standard good. Friendly staff.
fire door slamming jarring room 1.
Easy to find. Evening meal was very good. Breakfast was also very enjoyable. Will stay again next year.
Big bed and comfortable room and a large restaurant. Convenient location
Very near a busy road Initial ground floor room we were in was dark and smelt strongly of cigarette smoke. They did agree to move us to a different room, which was much better
