The breakfast was really good. We particularly enjoyed using the club room as it was a lovely atmospheric room to relax in with a bottle of wine. |

Comfortable room and very friendly and helpful staff. Noisy on a weekend - we stayed a Friday night and were disturbed by the noise from pub/club next door. Also need to ensure you book a table in the restaurant if you want to eat! |

The hotel was very comfortable, elegant and tastefully appointed. There had clearly been much thought put into how the guests could be best served. It was spotlessly clean. All the hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Lots of very welcome and appreciated details (eg. complimentary afternoon tea on arrival, DVD library etc). We had a very long wait for our (pre-booked) table for dinner. We were finally seated an hour late. The food was delicious but elements of the service were slipshod (eg. no bread/butter / time to relax before the meal arrived) |

This is a very comfortable and stylish hotel. The staff were courteous and efficient which created a relaxed friendly atmosphere. The food was outstanding and the service was professional without being "over the top". |

The staff were friendly and attentive, the food very good and the room comfortable, clean and airy. Pickering is a good base for exploring the many attractions of the local countryside and coast. |

Staff were friendly and efficient. Room was small but well appointed. Breakfast was excellent, Evening meal was good but portions were quite small even though billboard outside on street specifically advertised large portions! We thought the accommodation was overpriced and the evening meal quite expensive. Prices were considerably above those of two other Yorkshire hotels that we stayed in during the same week that were of an equally good standard |

Thank you for a lovely stay in your new apartments at the back, very clean and comfortable. Have told all the family about it so hopefully they will visit sometime soon. Room very warm - think it could be the fridge. Bacon at breakfast obviously had been keeping warm for a while - a little dry. |

The staff were extremely friendly and attentive to all our requests. The room was excellent and we will definitely use this hotel again when visiting this area. The slight confusion caused by our booking and the subsequent 'spoilt surprise' were soon forgotten once my wife tasted the home made chocolates and biscuits, the flowers and champagne also helped her forget. |

Very comfortable and relaxing hotel, friendly staff, well appointed rooms, cosy lounge and separate bar. Centrally located in Pickering. Didn't eat there in the evenings but the menu looked good. Rooms nicely decorated in contemporary country style, nice toiletries in bathroom, proper shower separate from bath. Being very picky here but there were a couple of things. My breakfast egg was on the hard side two days running. The person delivering the morning newspaper to our courtyard room tended to slam the outer door and wake us up at 7:30. Staff don't seem to realise guests from courtyard rooms are in the lounge in the main building when they lock up at night and have to then get the keys to let you out. |

The friendliness and attentiveness of the staff were very good. We enjoyed the contemporary superior room in the courtyard which was within easy reach of the hotel and provided most convenient parking. The full Yorkshire Breakfasts are to be recommended! The standard of the meal and the service in the adjoining Tutti bistro which is owned by the hotel was most disappointing and a poor start to what was otherwise a most enjoyable weekend |

Situated in the old market town of Malton, near York, this centuries-old coaching inn provides the ideal base from which to explore all that North Yorkshire has to offer. |
