The White Swan Hotel  

Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. Room was stunning and there were some great extra touches like fresh milk in the fridge that made the difference.

No negatives , would stay again!!

The location of the hotel and it had a lovely feel about it,everyone was so friendly and helpful,couldn't fault it.

Service at the hotel was not nearly as good as the previous time I stayed there.

only stayed one night. Historic town, lots to look at. Hotel really clean with friendly staff and nice rooms. Very nice bathrooms.

The lighting in the bedroom was poor Access to the bedroom with heavy luggage was poor because of the location of the lift and the many steps, though we appreciate the difficulties imposed by the age of the building. Also the location of car parking.

There on business, atmosphere warm friendly comfortable, parking only negative but bearable, and will be bringing my wife for a visit as a base to explore Stratford, thank you.

The staff were brilliant, the hotel has been beautifully refurbished and the facilities were all as you'd expect for a hotel in this price range. Excellent food too.

Noisy other guests in the corridors, but there's not much the hotel could do about that!

The White Swan is centrally located and a beautiful hotel that is budget friendly. The rooms, while small, are excellently decorated and very clean. We will definitely stay here again!

It was a real shame that we couldn't get breakfast delivered to our room!

Our room was fantastic, the location of the hotel ideal. The hotel it self was just stunning and really what we needed. It was our anniversary and first night away from our children in 2 years so we wanted it to be special and it was.

Sadly I thought the waiting staff were very rude at times. At breakfast I ordered boiled eggs and poached eggs with salmon was brought out. I explained I ordered boiled eggs. The dish was taken away to then be brought backto me by the waitress I had ordered with to be told I was wrong. When I put my foot down and said no the order was wrong she eventually brought me my correct dish. If she had taken the time, slowed down she wouldn't have got it wrong. The staff seemed a bit stuck up and above the guests at times which having worked in my own pubs for years within fine dining isn't the way to go.

Rooms appear to have been recently renovated. Some elements of the decor might seem a bit kitsch E.G. pseudo-period telephone, odd ceiling lighting fixture. None the less, the room is pleasant and comfortable. Coffee-Tea in-room set up is nicer than most. En suite bathrooms are large and well appointed.

I arrived well before check-in time of 3 pm. The desk clerk was very disinterested in my plight. One call was made to see if my room was available. No attempt was made to change to a room that was ready. Nor was housekeeping even asked if my room might be readied early. No follow up calls were made until I insisted, shortly before three, when the room was found to be ready and I suspect may well have been so for some time.

A wonderful stay overall, we will definatly stay again.

Contradictory information about car parking. Initially we were told we would only have to pay once if we stayed until the evening past our checkout. However, on checkout we were informed we would have to speak to the car park attendent and pay another day rate.

Stayed here before so did not hesitate returning to this hotel again. The room was imaculate and the shower is the biggest I ever saw. Bed was so comfy, nearly missed breakfast !!

Room 107 has plain glass window next to wc with no blinds, it is looked directly into from opposite building, nice !! Reception staff were rude and abrupt this time, and the waitress swiped one of our dishes before we finished, like a scene from Fawlty Towers !

Very comfortable and clean, great shower, well-appointed room. Friendly staff. Overall very good.

Little things spoilt the otherwise great stay. Cold mash with dinner and cold espresso. Very slow service at breakfast when only 3 people down!

Good central location for the night life, shopping and attractions of Stratford. Nice bar/restaurant downstairs (no noise from this was heard in our room). Free WiFi. Breakfast was very nice, usual cooked options as well as a cold buffet.

Room was quite small, but then it is an old building in the town centre so space is probably at a premium.

Overall the room and facilities were good we liked the fact there was proper milk in the fridge. The bathroom was very nice and spacious.The food was great.

We stayed in room 115 which was ;located at the rear of the hotel. We overlooked the fire escape and scaffolding, and workmen were frequently seen, the room was very dark. Whilst the room was nice we felt the staff should have located us is another room as it was obvious there were other rooms available at the time.We should have been made aware of the work going on and given an option. We chose this hotel because we spent our honeymoon there 47 years ago.Overall we were disappointed and felt this room should have only been available as a last resort.
