It is an attractive old coaching inn. Ancient, smelly plumbing! Hairs in the cooked breakfast :(

I thought the food was excellent and the staff were really attentive and friendly. Nice location maybe a bit remote for some people, but the benefit is, it is peaceful and quiet. I thought it needed a bit of TLC some of the infrastructure needed a lick of paint. The room we had was a bit cramped. In addition I had missed the small print in the reservation note I printed off the internet where it stated that check in on a Saturday was from 1800....we arrived at 15:30 and had to wait around until almost 17:45. Luckily it was a sunny day.

Friendly staff. Nice room. food nice. nice setting. pretty village/ I did not think it good value for money, The loo roll had run out. The windo curtains were far too thin and let in so much light so wake too early. The room door slam shut on the fire slammers, so get woken by the neighbouring rooms. The breakfast is nice but not generous. The evening meals are nice but Overpriced and not generous.

“The bar food was excellent. I liked the atmosphere in the bar with the wooden beams and the stone walls. Good service. Close to everything in little Oakham. ” Mattias, Tomelilla |
