We traveled to Browside for a family reunion. The best part was using swimming pool and etc., The staff were nice and our breakfast was good. We always enjoy traveling to York.

Rooms were small. I doubt they washed the cups properly in the mornings, and I know the spoons were filthy. For the money it could have been much better than that.

Great place to stay with friendly staff, comfortable rooms and great location for exploring the Lakes and Yorkshire Dales. Used the gym too even though we were meant to be relaxing! Would stay here again.

    Leisure facilities

The fact that i had a phone call to tell me there was not a double room available. I was only twenty mins away. £5 plus for a single Dalwhinney, they are full of grand illusions as the hotel and staff are very poor.

    Location and room size good.

Shower too small, couldn't get to controls without being in shower so blasted with freezing water before hot came through. Radiator on in our room inmiddle of summer, we had to ask twice for it to be turned off as we weren't able to do it. Food overpriced.

Friendly staff, we had my brothers funeral afternoon tea there as it was the cheeriest place closest to Wray, the afternoon tea was excellent, the room nice, as there was over 150 people the staff managed very well. I would recommend for functions. They even gave discounts to some people that decided to stay the night so they could have a drink,

The location although it is situated on a busy road.

The attitude of the owner. Grumpy and rude. The fact that I found my room had not been made up and was still st 4pm as the previous guest had left it. Despite being told there was a cot prepared in the 2nd room, there was not one there. No hot water in the twin room - there was obviously a problem as other guests were complaining. Creaky floorboards outside this room which made the furniture in the room wobble! The food at dinner was 4th rate, in fact it was almost inedible - reheated potatoes are always a giveaway!

    Location good for our needs

First room has no cold water so unable to have shower (we were leaving for a wedding at nearby Hipping Hall so major problem esp due to late check in time). Moved to another room that had no hot water. Staff unable/unwilling to help and this ruined the wedding for us as we arrived without being able to get ready properly. Staff never offered discount, apology or even a drink voucher. Pre-wedding also had to call to change booking slightly and very rude person on reservations service that could not understand English very well. Would not stay here again.

Pool and other leisure facilities were good. Food was good.

Staff were all quite strange. Friendly but not very efficient. Didn't feel all that welcome. Never anyone on reception and it was almost too much bother to get you checked in and out.

Staff were friendly and rooms were very clean.

We had a room without a shower which was disappointing but we were only there for two nights so it wasnt a problem.
