The quirkyness of the Inn and the quality of service & food The bathroom was small and bath was small but realised the type of hotel it was (16th Century Building) it was expected.

Lovely old world charm in the heart of really nice countryside.Good selection of well conditioned cask ales. We arrived to find that we could not get a table for dinner as the restaurant was fully booked. In over 40 years of staying in hotels this was the first time we had ever been in this situation. In fairness it was the weekend of the Badminton horse show, apparently a big event here. A chap called Luke who seemed to be in charge saved the day when he gave us a table provided we finished at 8pm which we duly did. Nice staff, friendly service perhaps a little bit disorganized given the weekend that was in it.

I adore the Wild Duck Inn. It is in a magical setting, it is very homely, welcoming, comfortable, gorgeous food, comfortable big beds, quirky, friendly. I have been staying here for quite a few years on and off. I just love it.

Room had not been cleaned properly for months, smelt of damp, window sills rotting etc. Toilet in bar in similar bad state. Shame as the building could be lovely, suffering from severe neglect. Long wait for meal and service at bar too

Great bar with lovely ambiance. Good dinner experience, great food, with a good selection on menu. Local sourced it seemed. Service was good and with a smile. Cold room. Our room needed a make-over and a good deep clean. Water pressure extremely low. Breakfast was a total let down. Staff not over happy, cleaning going on around tables. Bread...no choice (white or white or white! no excuse for this these days), jams were cheap pre packs... totally opposite to the quality of food and service the evening before.

Location, ambience, real fire, food, beer. Bathroom: not practical (small bath, no shower). Should get rid of bath and have a good shower cubicle.

We enjoyed our stay at the Wild Duck, the Bar, Restaurant facilities were excellent. The bar is delightful and old, very creaky and quaint. The food was excellent, if not a little on the pricey side. Overall a nice place to be, though sadly let down by the Hotel Bathrooms. The Bathrooms in our two allocated rooms were badly designed. The over bath shower was hand held, therefore making showering very awkward. Though this was overshadowed by the fact that during my shower the water just stopped flowing, causing the bath, sink and toilet to not be of any use. The Sinks were very impractical too - taps that did not suit the type of sink, only allowing you to just about get your hand under the tap.

Room was very disappointing. Bathroom ensuite was incredibly shoddy with a bath that had been patched in numerous places. The cushion covers and curtains were stained. Will not be going again and would not recommend. Real shame as it could be so fantastic.

It lived up to all our expectations as a real "oldie-worldie" country Pub/Hotel.The large log fires in this rather bleak and wet time were especially welcoming, the staff were charming and helpful and the food delicious. I think more attention should be paid to the rooms. The four -poster one which we enjoyed had a non-functioning extractor fan in the bathroom and very little attention had been given to the cleanliness of eg the windowsills.

The location and friendliness of the staff was excellent. The food was excellent with good variety. The room was a bit pricey for the standard of the hotel and the quality of the room. The bathroom was clean but a bit tacky. The light above the mirror in the bathroom didn,t work or the extractor fan which caused the bedroom to fill with steam when having a bath.

Loved the ambience in the pub / restaurant. Very cosy country feel with a good selection of beers. the room was nice with a 4 poster bed. The only way to check out is at the bar which doesn't open till 8am. I needed to check out early and ended up waiting around.

Good location and a nice pub serving a good selection of local ales. Friendly staff. Food and accomodation was very average. The rooms are very overpriced for what you get. My bathroom did not have a shower, there were scuffs on the walls, the basin was not fitted correctly, the bathroom door had been fitted with a garden shed bolt. The extractor fan in the bathroom did not work. I could go on. Not what you expect for £110 a night (for single occupancy).

The staff were very friendly and welcoming on arrival and throughout stay. The food was fantastic with a varied menu- would very much recommend the steak and chips! The actual location was stunning, set in a remote cotswold village. Also, the Wild Duck itself had much character, being such and old building... 16Th Century. The room was slightly disappointing due to the lack of cleanliness. I did just wonder how often the rooms are cleaned as there was a lot of dust and dirt on side tables and in drawers and wardrobe... Also the bathroom sink had toothpaste and hair in from those who'd stayed previously. Having ordered the steak for dinner- which was delicious- we asked if we could have some sauce for the steak, which wasn't offered on the menu. This was brought to us, but we were charged £3 when it came to paying the bill. I think customers should be aware of extra charges at the point of asking. Also, £3 seemed a little steep for just a sauce..! Also, the bill was incorrect with four drinks we'd not had.. Glad we checked.
