Friendlyness of staff was excellent. couldn't have been better.

The bedroom was of a fair size and good tea/coffee facilities, I would have liked to have had breakfast in a commumal room rather than in the bedroom. the bathroom could do with a bit of tlc. The walls were not very clean, dust was sticking to them. The towels smelled a little musty. The shower was too high and could not be moved, also the head was spraying all over. Not ideal when you don't want to get your hair wet or are short! The room and sanitary items were clean it was just the surrounds.

No mobile reception. No wifi in rooms. Food very average. Pub was cold I have never heard such meaningless chit that coming out of the mouths of the patrons. I know where al Murray gets his material from. Didn't really want to take shoes off in the room for fear of what i would tread in. Breakfast.....your joking.....bowl of cereal. Oh and the was noisy. Normally stay in larger hotel.....i will never stay anywhere like this on again wished i had of driven the 3hours home.

our stay at the Windmill Inn was just right for our visit to Essex. The pub and accommodation were both dog friendly and ideally situated in a small quiet village on The Essex Way footpath. We were made very welcome by the landlady and landlord, the breakfast of fresh fruit and cereal provided was adequate for us, with tea and coffee also supplied.We were accomodated in the stables and our room was both warm and comfortable and ideal for our dog wjho settled very nicelyA cooked breakfast was available had we required it at a little extra cost.

We enjoyed the freedom of staying in the stables, and able to get our own breakfast without having to have breakfast at a set time.

All facilities available in the room including fresh milk in fridge. Staff exceptionally friendly.

Wifi unreliable. No instruction to book restaurant prior to stay, causing difficulty when wanting to eat. Cooked breakfast not included and served late 10am and priced at £9 per person. Breakfast should be included in the price, available from 9 - 10.30am. If to remain extra then it should be priced at £5. Max. The above took the edge off all the strong positives!

The cleanliness of dining room ( table not wiped from dinner to breakfast ) and a member of staff/owner wearing the same stained t shirt on both occasions.

Very friendly welcome. The Pub/Restaurant on site was very convenient and served substantial, well-cooked meals.

Everything was fine, friendly welcome, overall the room was good for the money.

Room was good. The staff were excellent as was the hastily arranged supper when we arrived at 9.30pm.

It really is a pub with a 'round house' attached. Access to the round house is across a somewhat untidy yard, and the 'Reception' entrance is right next to the kitchen and not welcoming.

The owners were very friendly and helpful including offering to dry our clothes for us. Room basic but clean enough

Breakfast was disappointing - described as continental but really just some cereal ad fruit left in the room

I liked the fact that I did not have to walk through the bar to book in. The separate converted windmill accomodation was really cool. elaine was very frienly and helpfull. The meal i had was great all freshly made and an enormous helping. If I am in this area again i will definitely stay at the windmill again.

Location was good and were pet friendly. Friendly atmosphere and staff nice and welcoming.

The room was very basic, bathroom smelt. All a bit shabby. Outside area unkept. No nets at the window. Just needs smartening up a lot. Breakfast - again basic. No fruit juice, coffee served in a mug and probably instant- bitter - all very naff caff. Sorry!
