Score from 412 reviews Very good
Ideally situated for the town centre, castle etc. On site car park.
The room was quite dark. The ceiling had a large patch where there had been a leak and looked like the ceiling would fall in at an time. The shower needed a good clean as there was mould around the tiles.
Areoplane noise every 3 minutes between 0615. And 2300.
The location is good
The room was in desperate need of doing up. Huge stain on the ceiling
Great location in Windsor, walking distance to centre. Friendly staff. Good value for money
Free parking but we were blocked in by other cars so trying to leave was a bit of a faff trying to locate the other drivers
The location is in walkable distance to the city and the castle. It has adjoin pub which has good food and family friendly environment.
Doesn't include the breakfast for price.
We came to stay in Windsor as we were going to Ascot races. We stayed the night before and were made to feel really welcome in the pub. The staff looked after us and even helped us to our room as we were a bit worse for wear after a good night out lol! It is a lively pub so if you are after a quiet stay, this might not be the place for you. I would definitely recommend it and will come back again. Loads of restaurants, bars and a short walk to the main shops. A handy corner shop nearby for all your needs.
The carpet in the hotel as the floors are wonky (part of the character) but because of the stripes, it causes difficulty in seeing the stairs. The steepness if the stairs would not be good for the elderly or for people with walking difficulties.
We loved the location as it was a short walk to Windsor castle and a very quick drive to get to Lego land the next day. Staff were very friendly and our evening meal was great. Breakfast was a little dis-organised but tasted fabulous. It fitted the bill perfectly.
We weren't so keen on the sockets in the room which were a bit loose.
Good location. 5 mins to town centre and the castle. Free car park - have to block people in and leave your keys at reception so not great if you'll be using it a lot.
Room could have been cleaner but wasn't too bad
-Really nice rooms with lovely lighting -Very good value for money -Very friendly barman -Tasty food available for decent prices -Only a 10/15 minute walk to Windsor Castle
Good location with short walk to central Windsor. Seperate building to the pub and we didnt have any problems noise.
Room too small too warm towels too small breakfast not warm too basic Location was good though
Most of it not value for money
It was ok ,for one nite
The pub provides dinner. The room has a fridge!
Small car park.
Close to windsor castle.
Not worth the money.very outdated decor so not appeared clean.cheap quality of food and service very slow.asked for marmalade and was given honey.could hear noise from other rooms and rooms not ready when we got there.took payment before we could see rooms.would not stay here again.
The location of the hotel is excellent for exploring Windsor. It is within walking distance of all the major attractions, with restaurants, shops, and post office along the way. Still, it is far enough away from the hubbub of the tourists that you get a break from the crowds. Location is also close to the bus stop to catch the green line into London. The staff was friendly and allowed us to keep our luggage in the laundry room after we checked out. The room itself was basic and clean, perhaps a bit scruffy around the edges, but nothing alarming. Many hotels will not have AC in the UK but our room included a fan, which was a nice amenity we did not always receive elsewhere.
Be prepared to lug your baggage up a narrow, turning staircase if you stay on the upper floor. Also, you will hear constant aircraft flying over from Heathrow but that is going to be an issue anywhere in Windsor.
Wifi reception was good in room 4.
Building in need of repairs and painting. Water stain on the ceiling in our room and door wasn't plumb and had to be slammed to close.
Food, friendly staff, comfy beds, clean.
No checkout, just dropped keys off at side door. Room decor dated.
It is often difficult to find a hotel with car parking. The Windsor Trooper is very handy for travellers wanting to deliver a hire car at Heathrow.
Very much on your own, not continually hassled by staff, room and towels changed daily.
Noisy neighbours upstairs, two young children, unfortunately their stay coincided with ours.
Excellent location for Windsor Castle and town. We went on the hottest day of the year so the lack of air conditioning reduced my comfort rating (although an electric fan was provided and did the trick). The shower room was clean and qwell appointed. We also ate and enjoyed some pub grub and a good breakfast, although next time we stay we will venture up the road to the vast array of eateries. All round a good stay, with friendly staff.
Some folk may not like the bar(personally it was fine for me) that said the conservatory area is perhaps nicer to eat in.
Although quite a number of negative reviews I have to say I found everything excellent. The room was spotless with a bath towel and hand towel on each side of the bed with a soap, shower gel and shampoo. Room was spotless and in good condition had an excellent nights rest. The breakfast was good served with excellent cheerful service. I would not hesitate to use again if I am over this way again. Ticks every box for a short stay away.
Only negative the pillows could be slightly thicker
The staff were really friendly and it was in a good location
Room was dirty, there was a pair of dirty socks hung on the back of the door, the flooring was lifting in the bathroom, the shower was full of black mould, the bed sloped backwards so much so we had to sleep upside down on the bed and in my children's room there was a huge brown patch on ceiling
Location within easy walking distance of Windsor shopping and Castle
Room barely big enough for four beds
The staffs are friendly and helpful. Their food is really good. It is very close to town center and walking distance to the castle.
The B&B is based next to their pub, so can be noisy in the evening. The facilities in the room is old but fairly clean for their age.
location, very clean rooms, good pub beneith the hotel
No lift, and parking tight
