They were amazing! I had an extremely terrible experience at the Trouville and was more or less kicked out with no place to go/my things had been rifled through. Winter Dene was like a breathe of fresh air! They even stored my things while I travelled to Italy and were just so kind and heart warming. Highly recommended!
We were made to feel welcome. Lovely spacious room. Lots of friendly banter at breakfast and a really good breakfast. So good and really happy that we were able to stay an extra night.
nothing was to much trouble. i.e I went down for breakfast 1 hour early and they still servred me
not used to sleeping next to a wall I was shocked to have blankets and not a quilt
We had a clean , comfortable, spacious room on the ground floor. Breakfast was excellent , cooked to order and plenty of choice .
Great Superior room and comfortable beds. Supper breakfast and first class service. Will visit again
Staff, room, breakfast.
Very friendly welcoming staff. Excellent breakfast with quality produce and a lengthy menu of cooked options available. Our room was clean and comfortable with everything you needed. Easy parking on site. Seafront and town both within walking distance. Highly recommended
The building itself is lovely, a sturdy building full of history and character. We received a lovely warm welcome and we're delighted with both the ranfge of food available for breakfast and the quality of it. Service from the owner was pitched just at the right level, friendly but not intrusive. The hotel, whilst not slap bang in the middle of Bournemouth, is easy walking distance from the town and beach. All in all a very pleasant stay, I would definitely reccomend to friends and family.
The only slight down side for me was the noise that the showers made in the upper room - I guess that it's some kind of pump system. Not the end of the world, but not the most relaxing, and didn't feel like taking an early morning shower for fear of waking neighbouring rooms.
Everything but it helps that it is 5 minute walk to the BIC, Beaches and Restaurants ............... you will love Pinnochios. Wonderful food and atmosphere. Renzo and Heather, they own The Winter Dene are lovely people. Being located west of the BIC and centre makes access from the A338 so quick and you avoid the traffic jams to the east of the town.
Nothing to dislike.
Very pleasant hotel and an extremely good room on the top floor.
No lift. Smallish car park
Location, Room size, comfy bed & clean room & clean hotel overall. Good breakfast and lovely garden.
Noisy extractor fan in bathroom (room 1) and poor positioning of toilet behind bathroom door. Floor tiles had dirt & mould growing in-between tiles in bathroom.
The bedroom we stayed in had 2 en suite showers which was a surprise and we used both of them. Breakfast was very good.
The gentleman who opened the door to us and was around at breakfast had a very strange way about him. Almost as if we were uninvited guests at his home. We will not be staying here again
Welcome Garden Breakfast Friendliness
No dressing table Plugs too far away from mirror
Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast
Pleasant stay. Owners and staff courteous and friendly. Delicious breakfasts. Gorgeous gardens. We will not look at chamber pots and pot-pourri in quite the same way again !
Freshly cooked breakfast served at the table.Hate buffet free for all first thing in morning. Nob
No negative comments really.
Large room, clean.
Old fashioned, staff only average and poor value for money.
Lovely hotel, very clean and staff made you very welcome. Good breakfast. Would defiantly stay again.
Convenient location, excellent breakfast + service. Friendly staff. Available car parking on - site.
On checking in, the owner never welcomed us at all, gave us our bill, + advised us that we could pay him at any time during our stay. We have never before, been given our bill on arrival! On booking our room, we booked an evening meal for the first night of our stay, + were advised that it would be served at 6.15pm. We arrived at 5.30pm (having just taken my medication which has to be taken prior to meals), + on checking in, the owner informed us that we could not have our evening meals, as 'we have no food to give you, because Tesco haven't delivered it'. We thought he was joking, + questioned this, to which he said he was not joking, + repeated his previous statement. He never apologised for not fulfilling our booking (as arranged with his wife). As we could smell cooking, when we had left our luggage in our room, we went down the steps to the dining room, to find many other guests eating an evening meal! Obviously, we were very annoyed about this, as we felt no reasonable explanation was given, + we then had to go out to find a meal, after a long drive, when the available evening meal was one of our main reasons for booking the hotel.
we liked the friendly staff, furnishings were lovely and appropriate for style of property.Breakfast cooked to order and very promptly done.
I was taken ill in the night and we needed a taxi.Perhaps a taxi number could be put in literature.
Good variety at breakfast meal and cheerful staff.
