It was very quiet and relaxing. A perfect place to unwind yet close enough to Scarborough for a change of pace. The standard of breakfast varied from day to day. Some good some not so good. More choice on the dinner menu. |

The position and location Asked for first floor room well in advance but was not given one and when I asked was told there were none available. For the price I think the hotel was very poor value for money. The room was a decent size but was dated and in desperate need of decoration. |

very overpriced for small attic room and cramped ensuite. 3 course dinner menu at high 'all in' set price. hotel needs updating. Breakfast nothing special. much better hotels in scarborough. disappointing |

Very quiet.Nice grounds. The staff were unwelcoming, not cheerful and particularly sullen on our departure.There were no wishes for a good journey or please come back again etc.Did they not want to encourage business? At breakfast, half of the advertised continental was not available, e.g. yogourts and croissants.The whole building , although old and atmospheric, is daunting, gloomy and lacks warmth. |

Good location and nice grounds. We found the hotel bad value for money. Needs update. Also scruffy looking in parts. Dust and hair on bathroom floor . Room had no view except for rooftop very opposite! Restaurant evening meal - had to pay £10.95 subsidy for fillet steak! |

Excellent Hotel set in beautiful surroundings....just a short drive to the spectacular North East Coast and North Yorkshire Dales....would definately recommend. |

the staff are really friendly and efficient nothing is too much trouble.The house has a lovely atmospere and is in a beautiful spot with lovely views. The bathroom could do with updating(room 17)and i would suggest a proper shower as the one in there runs off the taps and either runs cold or scalding hot. |

Location and food were excellent Injured my toe on a dangerous bed, almost scalded myself in shower, the bathroom was apalling and unclean. The shower was an impossibility, with the water temperature fluctuating between scalding and freezing, the room was poor other guests on our floor also experienced the same problems. |
