Beautiful location - ideally situated for exploring Wroxeter itself, plus Shrewsbury, Morville and Ironbridge. Poor soundproofing: the party on Saturday night was very noisy, and later guests returning to rooms banged doors and their loud talking into the small hours (after 1 o'clock) kept me awake.

Beautiful location surrounded by fields with horses, gardens lovely. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Evening meal and breakfast was very nice. Very restful and relaxing atmosphere. Only disappointment was that there was no view from our room and considering we were in such a beautiful area that was very disappointing.

Brilliant staff, nice area/ The constant creaking of the floor boards, and being able to hear the people in the next room.!!!!!

I booked this hotel as a Christmas gift for my parents. My mother is disabled and wheelchair bound and we always have difficulty in finding a suitable venue with adequate wheelchair access and disabled facilities - ie. appropriate bathroom arrangements. This hotel was perfect with a ground floor room large enough for the manouvreability of the wheelchair and, what was most important, a wet room which made all the difference to the comfort of their stay. The location is beautiful; the food amazing and the staff could not do enough for my parents and they could not fault they stay. They would return anytime and recommend the Wroxeter Hotel to anyone wishing to have an escape to the Shropshire countryside.

We thoroughly enjoyed it all. The service was excellent and your staff were lovely - so polite and cheerful. The room was superb, luxury and comfort. Our only complaint, if you could call it that, was that the room was far too hot. We are thinking of coming next year to spend the whole of Christmas. This was just one night as a present to my husband. As above my only complaint was that the room was far too hot even when we turned off the electric heater.

Location. Central for the Salop hills, Ludlow, Iron Bridge museums, Roman ruins. Easy to get to, but in the middle of some beautiful countryside.

Very quiet location after travelling on busy roads, so it made a very welcome break before starting out on the second half of the journey the following day. GOOD FOOD AND BEER AND AN EXCELLENT DINNER. ACCOMMODATION WAS COMFORTABLE AND RESTFUL. NEAR WROXETER ROMAN RUINS WHICH WERE VERY INTERESTING, WELL WORTH A VISIT. IT APPEARED THAT THE HOTEL WAS VERY GEARED UP TO WEEKEND WEDDINGS, SO YOU WOULD HAVE TO CHOOSE YOUR TIME TO STAY, IF YOU WANTED A PEACEFUL BASE TO EXPLORE THE SURROUNDING AREA.

From the moment we arrived at reception the staff were warm, friendly and helpful. We wanted to visit the Roman city remains at wroxeter and could not have chsen better. The only 'criticism' was the generous portions served in the restaurant - more than old tummies were used to!

We only stayed one night for a specific function. This is hardly long enough to make sufficiently valid comments. However, the car-parking was excellent. The staff also helpful beyond the call of duty in assisting with our luggage. The lighting in the bedroom was insufficient to read by - the bedside lamp didn't appear to have a switch. The bar was very crowded -- perhaps inevitable -- and there was hardly any seating.

Overall, this is a friendly and relaxing place to stay, but they need to raise their game, particularly during busy periods. The rooms are of a good size and well equipped, providing a good base to tour Shrewsbury and the surrounding glorious Shropshire countryside. The reception staff are effecient and friendly, and make up for the niggling things which should not occur at a hotel of this quality. Really need to pay attention to the servicing of the rooms prior to guest arrival. Our basin and toilet had not received a good clean, and had obviously not been checked by management. In one room our party occupied, there was no hot water. Luckily, the hotel had received a cancellation and they were able to switch rooms. Our bathroom was quickly cleaned on request, however. The reception staff are friendly and effecient, but were under pressure during breakfast as they had to serve this as well; the bagel seemed to have just come out of the freezer and was unedible.

Many things wrong from old mattress you could feel the springs through, we requested relocation to another room staff were very helpful on this matter Dinner was poor generally dinner plonked in front of people without asking who the dinner was for, now rectified but front of house training required No charge was levied for dinner but standard very poor and menue misleading where Thai prawns turned out to be supermarket prawns of 1 inch with sweet chilly sauce over it + chicken with mushroom and tarragon sauce totally tasteless Will not return The location

This hotel is just a few kilometres from the bustling town of Shewsbury. We were impressed by the quiet and tranquil setting of the Wroxeter Hotel and its 'country' atmosphere. While this hotel does not offer high end luxury, it certainly provided us with good, clean accommodation at a very reasonable price. We were travelling with our adult daughter and they were able to provide a comfortable family suite which had the added advantage of overlooking a beautiful rural setting. The receptionist on the front desk was delightful, offering to go that bit extra by printing out maps and directions to and from Shewsbury and delivering them to our room. Breakfast was served in a pleasant dining room with cereals and full English Breakfast. While breakfast was more than acceptable, we would have appreciated some fresh or stewed fruit. The Wroxeter hosts functions, such as weddings. There was one the night we stayed and music could be heard till midnight. This did not bother us as it was perfectly quiet after this when we were ready to sleep. We were not at all disturbed by the noise of guests at the hotel.

I can thoroughly recommend this Hotel. It was clean, comfortable, and situated in an excellent position. The staff were friendly, efficient and knowledgable of the surrounding area. The available menus were varied and cooked to perfection. A very enjoyable stay.

Friendly, helpful efficient staff. Good location. Nice bedroom, very clean. Room above had very creaky floor. Impossible to shower without wetting a large area of bathroom floor. Hotel more geared towards functions, so more chance of other residents being disturbed. Breakfast pretty average. No fruit available.

A very well kept hotel standing in lovely grounds with good outside space in which to relax. Rooms were comfortable and very clean with tea/coffee making facilities, TV and free wifi. Staff were efficient and very friendly, The food was excellent, breakfast was top class with a good choice. A pleasant bar offered good bar food and the restaurant was excellent value with a wide menu. The thing that set this hotel apart was the little extras that have gone missing from many hotels, good quality products in the bathroom, plenty of quality choice in tea/coffee and hot chocolate in the room, plenty of fluffy towels, iron and board. Nothing was skimped on. A excellent hotel and an ideal base for exploring beautiful Shropshire.

The setting is very pretty. Slightly "dated"decor. Very thin walls - could hear people in next room very clearly. We ate in the restaurant on the first evening (with one other guest) and were "forgotten" and left waiting for the desert menu. Finally gave up! Ate out after that which was a shame as the food was quite good. Cooked breakfast first two days not very good - better on third day.

The Hotel was in a quiet location. I chose the hotel because it kind of ticked all the boxes for us. We were three professional ladies on a girlie couple of days away. It was quiet, picturesque and in a great location. There was nothing we disliked about the hotel. The staff were chatty, helpful and seemed genuinely pleased to help you.
