This place just didn't 'click' with me. The room was somewhat soulless - and the advertised photo of the bathroom to go with the 'Luxury Double Room' bore no relation to the small, dingy one I was given. The site-billing lists 'free newspapers' - these were not free (the fact that I only received it on one out of three mornings, because 'the garage was closed' (midweek) at least saved me having to pay! Wifi connection was lost on the 3rd day - querying this, I was told that they had changed the server, and there might be teething troubles...why not warn your guests of this in advance? Has the most depressing 'lounge' I have ever seen in a 3-star hotel. Staff friendly, but over-casual - don't really want to listen to waitresses singing along to the (ghastly) piped musak as they clear tables. All minor niggles I suppose, but just didn't add up to the enjoyable break I was hoping for.
Incidentally, I spent the next night at another 3-star, where I stayed in a similarly advertised 'luxury double room'. It actually only cost just £10 more, but wow, what a difference - and served to emphasise that Yeovil Court just hasn't really got it right.
The food. Dinner and breakfast offerings were excellent both from point of view of variety and preparation. The dining-room and bar areas are the highlight of the hotel. Apart from the music.
