The location of Priory was great, short walk to city of York.staff helpful, didn't have breakfast went into York for one.pub up the road did home made meals excellent value for money big portions so b aware but fantastic meals.
Our room was great not a problem. We were next to a family room this wasn't ideal as families bathroom was right near to our bedroom and at 6am the noise began so ideally not a good room if you wanted a restful sleep we were woke wiv singing in the shower and children shouting.shame as otherwise would be a great place to stay.
great location, interesting historical building and grounds
top floor rooms - hard to climb stairs
Gorgeous, open back garden; decent-sized and very clean bath; a welcoming and comfy front room/lounge, bar, and kitchen; short riverside walk to the sites.
Water could get scalding hot while in the shower.
Friendly staff ready to help and advise. Very good wifi Prepared to change things to suit me
Lovely comfortable four poster bed, excellently equipped bathroom, lots of useful extras, helpful staff and a central location.
We didn't mind being close to the road but this might bother some folk. It is a central location though!
On site parking, friendly staff, comfortable lounge/bar.
We had a twin room that was tiny, two of us staying 3 nights had a big bag each and there was very little room for our bags and no wardrobe, we found ourselves climbing over our own things in no time despite keeping things as tidy as we could.
Excellent position and within close walking distance to the walled city and its attractions. The staff were very helpful and we really enjoyed our stay.
Nothing I can think of
Good Parking Close enough to walk into the city Nicely looked after
Lugging the bags up 3 flights of stairs was a work out!
The staff were so nice and very helpful allowing us to keep our bags there and car parked after checkout while we continued to enjoy our time in York. The little bar was great and after the extension it will be amazing !! The breakfast was beautiful, well worth the £8 We'll be back again
Staff were fantastic and polite and could not do enough. We even got invited to a Birthday bash that was taking place after we came back late at night.
Nothing at all apart from leaving.
The Priory is located just outside of York with easy access to the downtown area. Also nice to get out of town into the quieter areas around the Priory.
Everything! It is such a gorgeous place and we loved it, so cosy and homey, would recommend it highly!
We had to leave a £5 deposit for the key but didn't get it back because we left early the next day and reception was not yet open. It didn't faze us too much, but perhaps they need to come up with a system to deal with people who check out early. It wouldn't stop us from staying there again though!
Full range of facilities available including a back garden and cosy bar. Friendly and helpful staff.
Breakfast finished too early on a weekends
the comfy bed friendly staff location walking distance from city free car parking
damp patch on carpet
Ideal location for the city everywhere within walking distance
No breakfast included
Lovely old building with so much character to it, with very friendly and helpful staff. Great location from the centre of town. Lovely quite grounds to sit in and relax. Great car park. Would definitely stay again and wouldn't have any hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone. Thank you for a fab stay :o)
Reasonably priced in a decent district close to both the University of York and the city centre.
A bit aged building, but it's very clean.
If you like old fashioned hospitality but with modern standards, then this is the place. Only 10 minutes walk along the river into the city. Free car parking a massive plus point.
A bit dated, but due a refurb next year I was told.
staff and facilities
Comfortable room with cosy communal lounge down stairs and a warm and inviting breakfast area.
No lift but we were able to overcome the inconvenience with some clever bag handling.
Staff went the extra mile for us. It was my partners birthday and they provided little extras and were very friendly. Great service!
due to old and listed building, there is no double glazing so it can be noisy
Location was good. Nice building. Free parking.
No thin curtins in de window.
Great location and parking.
In the eaves made for a stuffy night even with windows open. Layout of room made circulating in it difficult. Did't like the bread used for toast. Staff fine but no real connection.
The room was nice, was provided with all the essentials a hotel would provide and more! Stayed for one night and got in late as I was in York for a wedding.
Room was a little small so it looked messy when we got stuff out of our bags but this is a minor issue.
