Very quiet at night despite bar beneath. Breakfast cooked fresh and to order. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only a few small shops nearby. Not really suitable without a car.

Very helpful and cheerful staff. Rich cooked breakfast. Renovated clean bathroom, but without a mirror. Fan available in the room. Location close to good walking routes. Bus stop next door, with local buses toward Hastings. Walking distance to rail station and town centre. View from our room window to shabby back yard.

Staff were the most friendly and helpful that I have encountered in a long time. Customers in the bar were, with one exception, the same and, as they say, there,s always one. Even my terrible singing on karaoke night was well received. It usually prompts a barrage of rotten fruit and immediate ejection. A very enjoyable few days.

Very disappointed that in the evening there was a most loud music event in the hotel/pub,despite being a Sunday and reference on the booking to music events on other specific nights but not this night.Having asked what time this would go on till was told 11pm,which would have been just about acceptable.However, in fact it ended at 12.15am on top of which there was further disturbance for a while as people left.All this created stress resulting a very late sleep.I Was seeking peace, not this and would not have stayed here had I been aware.Also I would not have paid under this circumstance.Can not believe the authority would have issued a licence for such event.

The staff were excellent could not have been more helpful or friendly it was a bit shabby, tiles missing in the bathroom, draft through the window, mirror missing in the bathroom, beds were very narrow

Nice atmosphere,staff pleasent, beds comfortable. There was nothing to not like, but was a bit disappointed that the bedrooms hadn't been refurbished when the bar was done, same old tatty carpets and pink paintwork.

This was exactly the right location for my business trip. The breakfast and evening meal were very good value, and I did not feel rushed at anytime. Would stay again and recommend. I felt that the room I had could have done a small wardrobe or with some hanging space.

The room was clean and comfortable; the dinner and the cooked breakfast were both very nice. The bar was noisy and the language of some of the customers was rather choice - but that's not the fault of the owner!

Did not get a lot of sleep as a boiler/generater/fridge not sure what, kept cutting in and out every 10 minuets or so during the night. Good clean room with plenty of space. Breakfast was very good. Other than the broken sleep it was adequate for our 1 night stay while visiting freinds local to the hotel.

We kwamen om acht uur in de avond aan, werden erg vriendelijk ontvangen. Lekker een biertje en een wijntje van het huis. Mooie omgeving en uitstekende service en ontbijt. Zeer nette kamers, zeker een aanrader

Il n'y avait pas d'eau chaude pour se laver, chaudière en panne, pas de résolution immédiate dans un proche avenir, donc nécessité de changer d'hôtel. Le personnel était aimable et le petit déjeuner excellent, cependant sans eau chaude on ne peut pas aller très loin. D'autre part, pas de wi-fi dans les chambres. Le nouvel hôtel était meilleur, mais les heures de petit déjeuner trop limités, le jour du départ nous ne pouvions pas en prendre sous prétexte que le weekend ils ne servaient qu'entre 9h et 10h - pas d'eau chaude, pas de wi-fi, peu de rangement dispo dans les chambres

Hotel staff were very helpful Poor clenliness, poor facilities in room, plug sockets were not even standard 3 pin plug sockets. Being an asthma sufferer, having that much dust has caused me no end of problems. The bar was not welcoming (the staff were) but the atmosphere from the locals/regulars was not very nice at all. I would not stay here again, and I would not recomend this to anyone. It was such as shame as the staff all seemed really nice.

My husband said the beer was ok. The Husband cooked a nice breakfast. Dirty room , made my flesh crawl , carpet disgusting only stayed one night out of 2. Croissants at breakfast were stale. This is not a Hotel but a glorified Pub with rooms to sleep in. Could do with redecorating very shabby and the landlady needs some interpersonal skills. Grossly disappointed. Would not recommend! March 2012.

Le rapport qualité prix est correct pour un hotel de type moyen. Parking disponible. Possibilité de repas. Bruit en soirée pour les chambres situées au dessus du bar. Fenêtres anciennes.
