The owner, Kath, was friendly and helpful advising on buses into town, where to go, what to see, she even looked up museum opening times on internet for us. Bedroom was lovely & nicely decorated. Would definitely stay again. En suite bathroom in need of decoration. |

Alba House is a nice, family friendly B&B. It has an ideal location, very close to the city center with good public transport. Owner is a lovely lady taking good care of her premises and as well of her visitors. Breakfast were very tasteful. |

This was a great place to stay. It was along a major bus route, the room was large and comfortable, and breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. Cath, the owner, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local attractions. We would definitely stay there again. |

Good size comfortable room.Hostess a gem,obliging,welcoming, helpful.Parking,bus to/from city at door. Restaurants, pubs nearby.Classy breakfast setting.Sits with best of type and good value. Stairs to rooms but what the heck only con as against so many pros. |

I felt very comfortable and at home there, and enjoyed my room. Cath was very friendly and made me feel very welcome. I enjoyed the cooked breakfast each morning. |

Very good attentive staff, close to city center and on a very good bus route. The bathroom decor was tired. The room we stayed in (Room 2 ground floor) had a problem with bright security lights lighting the room at night. The curtains did not blackout the security lights. |

Good distance to city center, not too close but not far. 5 min on bus, and 30 sec to bus stop. Cath was excellent host. Room was clean and comfortable. Tasty Scottish breakfast. Would like to visit again. |

Cath was very welcoming and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The accomodation was very comfortable and exceeded all our expectations. The breakfasts were excellent. Very convenient for public transport into Edinburgh. |

Convenience of location to restaurants, Edinburgh landmarks, secure location, shopping, hiking King Arthur's seat and in our case The Gathering. Plus our auto rental agency. Secure parking was available. Our hostess even led us to a gas station. We appreciated hospitality. Nice to have a washing machine at this point in our trip as well. Our daughters liked having mirrors! |

The studio flat is a very good place to stay if you need to spend more time in the hotel - it's very tastefully but comfortably furnished, and has all the facilities that you would need in self-catering accommodation. |

Lovely owner, very helpful. Reasonably well situated for city centre, around 45 min walk and there is a good bus service. Parking available. Breakfast was good. Small towels in bathroom. |

cath was a mine of informatiion,the hotel has superb links into edinburgh,offroad parking,breakfast cooked to your individual needs. the building is listed therefore no double glazing,traffic noise could be a problem if you are a light sleeper in the bedroom overlooking the road but that is small minus against many big pluses. |

The staff were very pleasant when we arrived and were able to tell us the most convenient way of getting into town and back on the buses. We had a pleasant and quiet night, in a comfotable twin room. The breakfast was hot and well cooked and presented. |

Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Cooked breakfast excellent. Hostess very welcoming and gave good advice on local transport and eating houses and even arranged taxi. Nothing was too much bother to her. |

The room was large and comfortable. Very quiet on the inside, traffic could be heard, but not too disturbing unless you're a light sleeper which I'm not. Could chose breakfast which was nice. The owner was informative and very helpful with directions. All in all a wonderful place to call home away from home. |
