Fantastic rooms, beautifully refurbished. Excellent location, friendly staff. TV in Bathroom didn't seem to work and a light bulb was faulty (which did not matter as we were hardly in the room due to the fine weather!). Breakfast shift on one day seemed understaffed to cope with a busy morning. |

Location was great all the city sites and shops within walking distance. Parking was secure but was 15 pounds a day. My television in the room did not work, I reported it to reception but nothing was done. The milk, tea or coffee was not replemished during the stay. |

The staff in both the hotel and associated restaurant were very friendly and helpful. It was very convenient for the sights, shops, train station etc. but off the busiest streets. We weren't really aware about the restaurant beforehand, but ended up having a superb meal there. I would definately stay again. |

The hotel was in a lovely area of Edinburgh's New Town, on a quiet street yet close to city centre. The hotel was also very smart and the decor excellent - I would recommend the Albany to other people as it was different to the average 'run of the mill' hotel. Our toilet seat was broken!! Also, when we arrived at the hotel we were told our room was currently being used for a photo shoot and asked to wait an hour... when we returned the room still wasn't ready so we were switched to another room, which although was very nice, I think we would have preferred the room which was being used for the photo shoot - because it must have been fantastic! So we were quite disappointed. |

Charming georgian hotel with stylish decor. I realised afterwards that I was charged £1.50 for use of Credit Card. Never known this before. Was not flagged on booking. |

Staff was pleasant and tried. Breakfast was good. Overall, hotel was charming. Room very comfortable and spacious. Confusion by desk receptionist about our reservation - they could not find it. Tried to put us in the room right off the entry way with wrong bed configuration when they could not find reservation.Room we ended up in was dustier than my house. |

It was excellently situated within walking distance of all the main tourist attractions in Edinburgh. A quirky building, with 'interesting' period decor No lift |

Proximity to city center It was more like a "bed and breakfast" place rather than a hotel |

The 1st room we were given was dark and the wallpaper was falling off the ceiling. In fact some had already fallen. We asked to be given another room which was done. This was down at the bottom of the hotel, very poor access, noisy in morning. Shower in the bathroom was position at ceiling level. Nearly impossible to reach the shower head if under 5ft 8in. |

The staff were very helpful. Only 10minutes walk from Princes Street and 15 from Royal Mile. Easy access to Museums etc. 'Excellent restaurant. Very minor things. There was a magnifying mirror in the shower room which I feel would have been better over the sink area. The sink area in the bedroom but I imagine this was because the building was listed. |

Proximity to the town. Staff managed to move us to another room when we explained that we could not sleep with the high pitched noise almost constant immediately outside the room. The noise as above. Also we found the decor of the room 310 to which we were moved very oppressive and disconcerting. It looked great when first seen, but we found ourselves stumbling over the black chairs etc which we could not see against the black back ground. p.s. We are asked to answer 4 questions. This is at least 12 questions long. |

A good location, interesting room and the staff were helpful - lent us a mobile charger and looked after our baggage. The room was quite dark but it was not a major issue. |

Convenient to railway station. Good attitude of staff when apprised of fact that our room had not been serviced resulting in reduced tariff for that night. Room not serviced. |

The hotel was very near the Playhouse which was a big bonus. Hotel offered great value for money. As we were on the ground floor - around the corner from reception and facing the front door it was a little noisy as guests came in late on at night. |

The dining room staff were very helpful and pleasant. Although reception staff were a little offish, and didn't offer any help to me at booking in when I gashed my head and had to look for dressing to stop bleeding not being offered any help from staff lack of lift. Being on top floor and having just ran a marathon was a little hard |

Within walking distance of Princess Street the Albany is ideal for a city break. Staff were very friendly and helpful. No air conditioning, in an attic room during a heat wave, it was unbearable. Plus no safety box. |
