I loved the rooms - lovely to come in from the cold to a nice warm room and beautiful decor. The staff were all extremely friendly and the location was excellent. I also ate at the hotel restaurant several times and the food was exquisite.
Friendly staff and good location
Bed was uncomfortable, too hard but size was good
Warm and Corey. Comfortable bed
Lack of lift. Decor worn a bit.
Location very good, Staff very friendly and pleasant Shampoo and shower gell daily for use
Cups and glasses not cleaned and dirty dishes left in room We ended up washing out dishes to use again and tea and coffee not replenished
The Location was fab the room was very nice & clean also been was very comfy the room overall was very comfortable.
what i didn't like was i paid £139 for an Executive Double room for the friday but we changed to the saturday , so the receptionist when i called said i would get some of my money back as it would be changed to a double room , so i then called again and spoke to another receptionist they advised myself that i would'nt get my money back but i would get an executive double , when i got their on arrival it was only a double room i got and i totally over paid for my double room
Quiet, comfy and nice staff
Paid extra money for a very poor breakfast, maid left t-shirt under covers and made the bed on top of it (t-shirt was mine)
The room was damp and cold, the wall paper was pealing off the walls and ceilings because of the dampness.
staff is very beautiful and friendly.
I do not like live in basement even here is good.
Easy access to tram and theatre area.
Standard of cleaning. Stairs and carpets not hoovered. Very poor lighting in rooms.
I was not advised before booking that major refurbishment was underway.Holes in walls, ragged carpets-this is not four star.View from window was of a building site to the rear of the hotel.£447 for three nights was a joke!I recommend 'The Place' hotel in York Place,we spent more time there
Room was not worth the money. No hot water and room was so cold had to keep jacket on.Windows we so old you could here People walking by so did not get much sleep and the breakfast was not worth eating had to go out for food
Great location, amazing rooms, friendly staff.
1. Food (especially the fish and chips) 2. Excellent friendly staff 3. Lovely large room Not far from train station and not far to walk to Very near to Edinburgh Playhouse
Workers opposite the building decided to work early (7.30am or something like that) But staff was very apologetic about the whole thing, not really their fault
Extremely spacious and comfortable bedroom, and a huge modern bathroom. Very nice decor. The hotel comprises several grand Georgian townhouses interconnected. Some internal renovation work was still underway, but nevertheless I had an excellent experience in this hotel. Staff were very pofessional and friendly.
The staff was very accomodating when we complained about room we had the first three nights. New room of newer date,- bed small but clearly newer matress and bathroom much better. Great location. Staff friendly.
First room old and right next to entrance, tiny bathroom with dirty shower(mold), bed not comfortable. A little disappointed with breakfast,- no cooked option.
This hotel is located on a busy street with heavy traffic which you can here all night and there's work being carried out refurbishing some rooms so you won't get a lye in other than that it's ideal for the playhouse bars and restaurants 2mins away 5mins from station. We where given a family room which was massive,we just felt it was to big for 2 people but didn't complain either. For £73 including vat and a breakfast which is half decent and getting your head down. Room was clean enough bathroom was lovely had a fridge as well tea/coffee,iron can't complain at all really.
All the staff are foreigners should have some local people employed.
Location from attractions, decor of whole hotel, how staff went out of their way to help with particular requests
There were a few building works so perhaps a little disruptive - understand that this can't be helped though
the room size
over priced hotel for the facilities
Spacious room, large bathroom, very clean. Lovely deep large bath.
Carpet didn't meet lefthand side of room, shower didn't work. reported shower not working in morning - receptionist just repeated what I said- not very interested.
Nice hotel, friendly staff and great location! Is not even a 5min walk to the play house! Room was nice was expecting the worst after reading all the bad reviews but was a nice place to stay and had a great nights sleep! Ok there was a few wee things that wasnt 100% perfect but was a dead on! There was abit of damp in the bathroom but that's because there was no window, dont listen to everyones negative comments! I'd stay there again!
The room was huge and very nice
There was a lot of building works going on inside and right outside the window at another building. Would have been nice to have know about this in advance as I wouldn't have booked this hotel. Quite a few bulbs out in the bathroom
The location was great for the station and city centre. Room was lovely, just needs the bath panel sorting. Evening meals and breakfasts were lovely.
Bath panel very untidy and loose.
Easy access to shops, Xmas market bars and restaurants.
Traffic noise in room.
The breakfast was awful and the rooms were in disrepair
