The location of the hotel was excellent, especially with the tram line running from the next street straight to the airport. The bedroom was large and spacious with lots of storage.
Are bedroom was underground at the front of the hotel. At 7.30 on our first morning we were woken by two men who were collecting the laundry and who argued at great length in loud voices on the best way to load the van!
Had dinner on the first night of our stay which was excellent as was the breakfast in the morning all staff were helpful and obliging.
Location was great. Staff were very friendly & accommodating. Rooms were a good size.
Staff very friendly and helpfull. Very close to everything.
Spacious room. Excellent value and good food restaurant for evening meal. Not far to walk to the city square
Minor stuff like Shabby/worn hallway carpets. Not working light bulbs
Staff were really nice and polite, excellent location.
The cracking noise coming from the ceiling, probably from the room just upstairs everytime they walk. It is disturbing if you are trying to sleep after a long day.
This was a great hotel for going to a show, which my friend and I did, it was also very close to Princes Street for the shops, so we had the best of both worlds. This is a lovely hotel, the decor is lovely. It is very clean, and the staff were very nice and helpful, I would give it full marks.
Great location with most tourist highlights within reasonable walking distance
At 10.05 breakfast was closed
Location is excellent for accessing bars, restaurants and theatre. Staff friendy and informal
Car parking isn't guaranteed, but overall spaces on the street were quite plentiful.
The staff was very friendly and helped me a lot. As she knew it was my first time to Edinburge, she intruduced the city and recommended some lovely places to go. The breakfast were quite good, especially the salmon.
i love the place and the toilet it was so huge and the heaters are perfect.
i dont like the food in the morning. i am expecting an english breakfast
The location of the hotel
On arrival we were told that there was a wedding going on so the restaurant was closed. Room service was still available. We then had to climb two flights of steep stairs to our room. Bed was not comfy but room was clean. Noisy on both nights by people in bar which woke us several time through the night. Guests were also singing very loudly and staff did not appear to ensure guests were quiet! No consideration given to sleeping guests!! Not impressed with hotel and would not go back.
Staff were excellent. Location was ideal and our room was spotless.
Some areas a bir tired and in need of some tlc
Close to town and onsite parking available.
Parking fee could be lower.
The staff was very professional and most responsive to any requests I had, helpful in every way. The location was close to buses, pubs and restaurants for every budget of traveler. But of all the reasons to stay it would be the staff, from receptions to housekeeping to breakfast service to the bar and restaurant. People really out to please.
Lovely rooms Brilliant location Very good value Comfy beds Perfect temperatures in rooms
Noisy maids in the morning chatting between themselves
Walking distance from Waverley Station (if you're travelling light). Very attentive reception staff. Walking distance from most restaurants and tourist attractions. Very comfortable bed.
Could do with a makeover. Shower tap very stiff.
Staff were great.
Not really 4 star maybe 3 at a pinch
very dark, poorly lit, cold, draughty windows, tiny shower room, carpets badly worn, no cooked breakfast
Good loctation in walking distance to the city center Friendly staff
Poor breakfast Expensive Car park Dark rooms with dated furniture Extremly small bath and washbasin in the bedroom - like in the 18th century
quiet and tasteful
I have stayed here 4 times and each time the hot water for the bath has not been hot. By the time I get into the bath the water is tepid. No doubt this is to save on electricity which is reasonable, but they could just turn up the thermostat by 4 degrees to make all the difference
Breakfast was lacking
Look of outside Receptionist on second morning very helpful. Looked after our bags after check out.
Arrived on Friday, hotel chicken meal over cooked. Toilet had stale urine smell. Flies on continent breakfast croissants (uncovered) Someone attempted to enter bedroom at 7am. Possibly a maid but nothing said. Cause us fear.
