Free wireless, good continental breakfast, location. (Breakfast was all cold but included salmon, ham, cheese, salami, croissants, toast, juices, coffee, cereals, yoghurt), 24 hour reception

Dusty blinds, old and worn carpet

The hotel is well situated close to many of the major sights and the railway station. Staff were helpful.

The room was small, dark and in the basement. The noise of running water kept me awake.

Location, staff, cleanliness, willingness to help.

Room decorated in very dark colours - black, brown, extremely dingy. Black carpet frayed, very small wash basin difficult to use without it overflowing.

No lift to upper floors. Would be difficult for older residents with luggage

The room was lovely bed very comfy and bathroom was very clean shower was brilliant.

Think the breakfast was poor they should serve cooked breakfasts

Reception was a bit tired looking, also some of the stair carpets were worn and a bit shabby. Breakfast was very limited and could be improved.

The decor of the hotel was lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Room was dull, dusty and not clean! -The bins had not been emptied from the previous customers. -The bedroom window would not close. -The radiators didn't work -The cushions & bed runner were soiled. -etc etc etc! This was NOT a four star hotel dont stay here unless you want your weekend ruined!!....... I did mention how my visit was spoiled and the receptionist said that she would inform housekeeping.

very big room, very nice design, close to the city center. Also the design of the hotel itself was good and the building itself is very authentic. Helpful staff, iron in the room. there is a very good restaurant in 100 metres on the same street (if you turn left after exiting from the hotel), that is not expensive.

our room was on the ground floor, and I would say that the sound of cars passing by, especially in the morning, is enormous. Another strange thing was that in our very big room there were no fridge.

The hairdryer was poor and the room we were in looked straight onto the wall of another building about a metre away. Parts missing on taps. Fire alarm went off in the morning and when everyone was out then turned off. Breakfast consisted of toast, tea/coffee, cereal and cold meat, cheese and tinned fruit. No cooked breakfast at all. Parking tried to charge £12 , although we parked on street and used the metre which only costed £7 for the night. Quite dissapointed & Wouldn't say it was upto 4* standard.

Have used this hotel several times when visiting my daughter at university. Have noticed the last couple of times the room a bit "grubby" - dusty round the edges, door ledges, ledges on dressing table etc. This time the shower was blocked and almost overflowed when used. I reported this on the first morning but it was still the same in the evening. Quite disgusting. Think carpets throughout hotel need a clean. Breakfast croissant was stale. Finally single room on ground floor very noisy - traffic on cobbles. Location excellent bt not sure would use again due to above. Think standards are slipping. Would haver marked comfort good if room had not been dusty.

I really liked the style of the hotel and friendliness of the staff working there. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Angie the receptionist was excellent and very accommodating.Dining hall staff were also great. Breakfast was sumptuous. Hot water was not a problem

No wireless for first day (we chose this hotel for all day wireless) Man at desk trying to resolve this was not friendly. Did improve on day two. shower hose kept popping out of the holder. very old carpets got to go in corridors

Good sized room and bathroom

Dirty upholstered cushions (human excrement). Ants on the breakfast. Room not ready on time.

Friendly, comfortable and close to the city

The room was very spacious and had quality products. The bed was very comfortable and a good size. There was a well stocked mini bar. The staff were pleasant and welcoming without being too pretentious.

We had to pay £12 for parking for the car overnight which we were not informed would be chargeable. The hotel was quite sprawling and did not have a lift.
