Hotellet ga mye for pengene. Rommet var en overraskelse. Stort og innbydende med sin gamle mørke stil. Den kontinentale frokosten var så absolutt bra. Frokostlokalene, som også fungerte som restaurant på kvelden var trivelige og innbydende. Maten vi spiste var utsøkt. Lam og and. Personalet var hele veien positivt tilstede.

Fikk en overraskelse ved avreise da vi hos dere på booking.com registrerte bestillingen med Diners, men dette kortet ble ikke akseptert på hotellet. Det ordnet seg likevel med alternativt kort.

The location was convenient for attractions, shopping, theatres, station etc and was in a reasonably quiet street.

We stayed for 3 nights, arriving Friday. On arrival, the hotel staff were unable to find our room key. There were electrical problems which affected the TV. Shortly after arrival the central heating and hot water failed. We were without heating and hot water until late on Saturday evening. Only one radiator out of two was working and the heated towel rail in the bathroom did not work. The heating/water problems affected half of the hotel, which was almost full. We had to use a vacant single room to shower which was in another part of the hotel. On departure, the Manager on duty seemed unaware of the problems and was not authorised to offer any recompense. We asked that the proprietor e-mail us, but have not heard from him to date.

service from staff was very good, polite and helpful.

we felt the decor in the room was not upto standard for a 4* hotel - some strips of paper had come off the ceiling, the bath was chipped and I was also unable to turn on the shower, the circular dial was difficult to grip and too stiff for me to turn, I had to get my boyfriend to work it for me.

Room reception was exceptional but the breakfast facilities in the adjoining restaurant weren't really to same standard

We found the Albany extremely comfortable, the staff were very helpful and friendly at all times. The hotel location is ideal for exploring Edingburgh.

The main lighting was rather weak, perhaps an additional reading lamp would help. A shelf for toiletries in the en-suite is necessary.

Excellent hotel. Clean and beautifully designed. Very spacious rooms. Worth paying a little extra for.

The staff at this hotel were outstanding!!! They were only to happy to help with any requests i had. I'd read after booking that the rooms were dark, and after staying there- yes, the rooms are a little darker than normal, but it's the stylish decor and colour scheme's. I was impressed about everything during my stay, i would definately stay here again.

Decor and cleanliness of the rooms. Also got upgraded due to a previous reservation not being cancelled through another company.

The staff service, and the food was superb. The location is great for sightseeing and shopping, very central.

I was not very impressed with my room, the wall, above the bed, presented a white patch trying to mend damaged wall paper. This should be taken on account in the future, as it does not befit a 4 star hotel. Perhaps the beds shouldn't have a black cover as it adds too much darkness to the room.

Did not like the black decor in the room and our carpet really needed a shampoo
