In the heart of Wales, between Newtown and Llanbrynmair, Aleppo Merchant Inn is surrounded by beautiful Powys countryside. There is free parking, free Wi-Fi and a traditional restaurant. The spacious, refurbished bedrooms at Aleppo each have tea and coffee facilities, a TV and radio. All rooms have a private bathroom and plenty of storage space, and some have scenic views. A generous cooked breakfast is served daily in the bright and airy dining room. The Lounge Bar serves a varied menu and homemade specials, and the 3 cosy bar areas offer beverages and snacks. Set in a 17th-century inn, Aleppo Merchant boasts original period features and traditional charm. There is a games area with darts and bingo, and a spacious beer garden with outdoor seating. Just 25 minutes’ drive from the edge of Snowdonia National Park at Machynlleth, Aleppo Merchant Inn is surrounded by scenic walking and cycling routes. Caersws is a 10-minute drive away. The Aleppo was really clean and has been done out very nice in all aspects. There was a good bar with fine beer. Didn't have the chance to have a meal just breakfast which was very nice.

Felt at home and being looked after. Good breakfasts Easy booking in Very steep stairs to room Food at night......helpings far too big. Needed a more interesting selection of vegetables. The Tha green curry was not nearly spicy enough

The rooms were very comfortable and well serviced,the staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The restaurant menu was good and the food excellent. It was my second stay at the Alleppo and I will recomend it.

A great welcome, really friendly people looking after us, an excellent dinner and breakfast and a very reasonable price. Freshly decorated and spotlessly clean. A very good shower. The approach was a bit offputting for a first impression but once inside quite forgotten.

The room was very clean and fresh, it was very spacious and the facilities were first class. The staff were very polite and welcoming and the food served was excellent in every aspect.Overall this was a fantastic stop off on our journey and would highly recommend it to anyone for comfort clenliness and hospitality. no negative points at all

Everyone was very friendly and and I enjoyed my brief stay. Food was good, as was the beer. The room was comfortable with good en-suite facilities. I am glad I chose the Aleppo Merchant over various alternatives.

I had been to drink at the Aleppo Merchant Inn before but this is the first time i have stayed there. The staff are excellent. The accomadation is finished to a high standard. The food is well prepared and plentyful. I would recommend the Inn to anyone. The only negative comment i would make is that the TV reception is very poor.

The staff were warm and friendly. The food was great value considering the price point. Possibly the worst night's sleep I've had ever...the ensuite's toilet (which features an electrical pump) kept going off every 20 minutes - just like someone switching on a hoover for a few seconds. Not very impressed by the response from the manager.
