Comfortable Rooms Friendly and helpful staff Good breakfast Central Location
Great location for Abbey Gardens / shops. Rooms are great and modern including bath.
Bed was narrow! Would have expected a king size bed for size of room
We had a room that was well equipped with aids for my disabled husband but it was on a side road and very noisy in the mornings. The staff were helpful and delightful and the food was excellent. Would love to go again!
Polite and helpful staff.
Breakfast was a little slow.
really welcoming and friendly staff. smooth running car parking arrangements. really enjoy our one night stay and will return
staff were very helpful, although we had to wait half an hour for breakfast, it was a very busy Sunday morning. Rooms in the coach house are not as impressive as in the main hotel.
Central location, delicious breakfast, well appointed room. Helpful staff.
Although ground coffee very nice, a couple of sachets of instant coffee would be very nice for a quick drink!
Room decor Staff and customer service Good breakfast
Air conditioning not good enough - hot room Limited on other facilities e.g. pool
Very friendly staff, excellent facilities and location. Car parking service was outstanding! Did not try restaurant (except for breakfast) although other guests were complementary about dinner.
Having to queue for space in the restaurant for breakfast. Also, breakfast service was slow, although food was fine when it arrived.
Needed complete redecoration, walls were dirty, there was a hole in the plaster near the door light came in the bedroom because the curtains were not on the correct tracking on the plus side the bed was comfortable.I did inform the reception on checking out of the state of the room.
The location is excellent and breakfast was fine as was the waitress
The quality of the room and the room's location nor the general decor This superb building is neither high quality modern decor nor traditional nor even a clever combination of the two - it needs refurbishing to a high quality as befits it in such a prime position and town
Decent breakfast, quaint basement bar, superb staff!
My room! No temperature control in the room, too warm and window wouldn't stay open, not a great sleep, noisy floorboards above, update of decor required. Overpriced for what it was
Location, friendliness and helpfulness of staff
Location and friendliness of staff
Thought the full Suffolk breakfast was a bit light. Certainly could have eaten more.!
No air con & no complimentary bottle of still water.
terrific experience from the moment we arrived. The staff are all very very good indeed. Would not hesitate to book again. Bury St Edmunds is a fabulous place to visit anyway, so this really was the icing on the cake.
Air Conditioning and comfy beds
rather noisy with the window open
Location was perfect. Breakfast amazing.
Room probably not as nice as I expected from the photos but the view and location overcomes this.
Location was excellent, everything at hand. Staff were friendly and accommodating at every opportunity. The building is beautiful and rooms very comfy.
The location of the hotel is excellent. The staff without exception were superb. The best small hotel that we have stayed in the UK
The service from when we got there was really good. From the concierge with our car parking, taking our luggage to the room to the service we received from the Staff in general during our stay both at the main desk and down in the bar. The breakfast was absolutely lovely with a great view from the window looking out. A great location to walk into town. Would definitely stay here again.
We had no complaints about our stay at the hotel. However I did book this hotel via booking.com and therefore had a good deal from their website with the price. Personally I wouldn't pay the minimum amount for a room that The Angel charge on their website. But that's just a person opinion.
Cooked breakfast warm only, not hot. Toast stone cold. Breakfast staff service poor: slow, inaccurate order delivery, indifferent attitude. They wouldn't survive one dsy in a London hotel!
Room.Reception staff. Location.
everything staff couldnt do enough for us ,we would certainly book again thankyou.
Bar in the cellar does not work. The cellar is fine but the concept of an up market cocktail bar does not work.Better to change it to a regular good hotel /pub bar.For example to be able to have a pint in the hotel was confusing ! The customer would be happier and beverage sales would increase.Restaurant service first night was ordinary.Next day was very good due to good management presence.
