The friendliness of the Staff. There was a really good selection for breakfast, cereals, fruit, juices and a choice of 5 cooked breakfasts, with refills of tea, coffee and toast if required.

Location - perfect for access to quayside and harbour activities Food service for evening meals was extremely slow. Food was fine when it arrived, but over an hour's wait from order till food arrived on the table is unacceptable. Not a one off event as we gave them the benefit of the doubt the night, but we dined there again on the third night - big mistake !

As an ex resident of Poole, when I re-visit, I have always stayed at the Antelope Hotel and will continue to do so because it is central to my needs. Nothing to dislike. The only comment I would like to make is at breakfast, we did have to wait quite a long time to get a plate for cereal.

The staff are extremely pleasant and hardworking. The location of the hotel is ideal for anyone wanting to visit the Quay and its environs. This was our second time to stay at the Antelope. We had travelled over from Ireland via Holyhead and were exhausted by the time we arrived. All we both wanted was to have a meal, a couple of drinks and go to bed. To our dismay our room was directly above the bar and there was a live band on the first night and other entertainment on subsequent nights. I know it finished at 11pm, but I was shattered and needed to sleep. In future I will ask for a room in the other part of the hotel, even if they are much smaller. We also felt the general standard in the diningroom had disimproved. I ordered battered cod, chips and tartare sauce. When the meal arrived there was no tartare sauce. When I asked for it I was told there had been a "run" on it. A request for mayonnaise never materialised. My fish was dry and bony, which was a pity, because last year it was fabulous.

Handy position close to centre & sea. Exterior looks quite nice. The bed occupied approx 85% of the bedroom, making it v difficult to move around. Bath & handbasin were cracked Although "interesting" it has seen better days & wd benefit from maintenance/ restoration. There is no lift & a lot of stairs.

Good clean rooms, with excellent service at a level expected with the 3 star rating. Breakfasts were good and the staff coped well with the extra holiday weekend crowd. In the day before the holiday they were excellent rather than just 'good'. Comfortable bed, large bathroom. As good as the service we have experienced in international 4&5 star hotels. Noisy pub at the front with great entertainment, live bands Thursday, poor disco on the Friday. Staff helpful. Would recommend this place to friends. No complaints.

Lisa (Receptionist) was very helpful Hotel was being renovated, at despite ringing them 2 days before our visit, they didn’t tell us. Empty cement bag found in our room and lots of dust from the renovations. Builders had been in our room to plug in a transformer when we were out. Bathroom needs a lot of work (room 2) mildew in tile grout and the waste pipe from the bath needs unblocking. Housekeeping appeared to have made the bed and changed the towels, had to ring reception for toilet role! Breakfast was cold and unappetising.

This hotel has bags of character and is run by very friendly staff. It was very clean. We had some excellent meals here. We were pleased to find it very quiet at night. We would come here again. One or two bits in the bathroom needed fixing.

This is a good and friendly, working inn in a great location. There are no pretensions to be a 'city-centre destination', nor to offer an 'olde england experience'. Its a large, centuries-old building with a good pub at the front, located about 50-yds from Pool Quay. If you can't walk that far for the view, there's a Thistle around the corner where you can obtain standard corporate rooms-with-views at 3-times the price. I was offered the choice of two rooms and chose one at the back; no problem with noise. The bathroom was perfectly clean, recently refitted and basic. The bed was new and comfortable with excellent quality linen and a nice down quilt. The breakfast is good with cooked options available all the way to midday (buffet until 10:30 only). All staff were friendly, accommodating and efficient. Free parking directly opposite but also walkable from the railway station. My weekend stay was excellent value. For the weekend deal that I got, I wouldn't complain about anything.

Very welcoming staff if a bit random at times! It has a very informal atmosphere, excellent choice of cooked breakfast options and a spacious dining area. Pub food comes highly recommended even though we didn't actually eat there. Quite family oriented and popular with locals! If you're not a sports fan, perhaps best to go elsewhere as two screens showing football on a Saturday afternoon brings in a slightly rowdier crowd!! Reception desk not always manned hence reference to "random" remark above. Female staff a tad sullen but young chap with glasses who appeared to be on duty at all times in all parts of the hotel very customer service oriented. Lighting in room poor, very low wattage. Room basic and shower head in bathroom not adequately secured making it difficult to use.

This is a wonderful, large historic town house in an excellent location close to Poole Quay and in the heart of the interesting old town. This lovely old building suffers from a poor conversion to a hotel. The rooms were adequate but not really up to today's standards and look tired. Our room had large damp patches on the ceilings of both room and bathroom. At present we would recommend it for its location only.

It is in the historical part of Poole which was very interesting and in walking distance to most places shops and tourist attractions. It was next door to the Museum and historical archives which was my main reason for visiting Poole. The bed was comfortable. The food was good. The tv was good. There was no lift and trying to take heavy luggage up to the top floor was very difficult. The room was very small and didn't have air conditioning. Because of the outside noise I needed to close the window. Had I realised there was no lift I would not have chosen this hotel. It would depend on the agility of the person as to whether I would recommend this hotel as accommodation.
