Very good room, comfortable, clean and full of antique furniture. Breakfast was delicious. Was worried by the other reviews but recommend fully. |

Our visit was out of season, but the owner and his staff went out of their way to meet our every need - they could not have been more helpful. |

Goood location. Uncomfortable bed. Bed linen very old. Decor in the reception rooms especially the bar and reception need to be undated. |

Staff went that extra mile to help always polite, courteous and friendly and hotel within walking distance to attractions. Having to put parking tickets on car each day a little tiresome. |

Upon arrival the staff were friendly and informative. The shift changes were seamless in this respect. The evening meal and breakfast were very apetising and filling. The lobby area was very comfortable and welcoming with some lovely settees. The extras in the bathroom were unusually presented. Wi-Fi was unable to connect in the room. |

The staff were excellent, especaily in sorting out a suitable room Please don't assume because a single person has booked a double room they are not deserving of weel located room. Trying to put someone in a back room with no view etc. Is not likely to encourage them to stay again. Apprecaite its an older hotel and flor will slope. But please level out the furntiture and bed to make it feel level. Could tell by the coffeee stains on the floor how often drinks had fallen over. And please don't just walk into guests rooms, Get some do not distrub signs please |

Very central to the Hoe, Barbican and the city centre, but tucked out of the way, no noise. |

Everyone tried hard to make things comfortable and there were friendly. Rooms were adequate and the bathroom has a really good quality finish. The booking stated Free private parking possible on site - it was all public parking on a meter. TV was not working due to postal delay and no freeview boxes - would have been nice to be told this on check in. I rang the hotel to change my booking to 2 nights and this wasn't recorded. I asked for a twin room in my original booking and by telephone but this wasn't sorted out until the day. I looked for a price for 2 nights and was quoted £125 but they charged my £130, I feel they should have apologiesed and given me the lower price but it wasn't offered.Pillows on the bed and the duvets seemed thin giving the impression of aged bedding. The wireless internet did not work and I was unable to log in using their password. |

The friendliness of staff and the excellent service. I chose room service as I had my little Scottie dog with me. It was very efficient and quicker than most hotels I have experienced. Would have liked a better view, e.g. The sea front ! |

The room (four poster bed) was obviously recently refurbished and the furniture and soft furnishings were beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was just a few yards from Plymouth Hoe. The hotel is a typical seaside hotel surrounded by other seaside hotels but it it clearly making huge efforts to take itself to the top of that class. We booked a suite, which to quote wikipedia, "denotes a class of luxury accommodations the key feature of which is multiple rooms". Suite, I believe, is french for more than one adjoining. However, this 'suite' was only one room and, while not small, was not a particularly large. It was beautifully done with a lovely bay but it certainly wasn't a suite so be aware when booking a suite. Also please not not all rooms have yet been refurbished and I didn't see those that weren't so can't recommend them. |

Friendly staff on arrival Tired looking hotel, the Suite we had was nothing special, just two rooms made into one with an ajoining door. Had to pay for a Sunday Paper and parking. The hot water for the hotel wasn't working in the morning. |
