“ Fantastic location, lovely food, massive portions, clean and lovely rooms, lovely hotel. ”

The Black Boy is a 16th-century inn within Caernarfon's historic town walls. It has good Real Ales, hearty meals, and is an easy walk from the center of town and 13th-century castle. The Black Boy Inn dates back to 1522 and is one of the oldest inns in North Wales. Some of its walls are 4 ft to 5 ft thick. The wood paneling, creaking floorboards, low ceilings, narrow staircases and thick wood beams create a cozy atmosphere. Black Jack's is a separate part of the inn and is in a courtyard to the rear. It provides modern accommodations including junior suites with kitchenettes. Caernarfon is a market town with an open-air market every Saturday (Mondays also in summer). Everything was good. The staff very good at their jobs and friendly. The food was great and the atmosphere excellent. What a lovely place to stay. Room was large and bed very comfy, No complaints at all Only two comments. The rooms were too light at night, should have darker curtains, and no conditioner in the bathrooms. I know not all hotels supply it but the majority of hotels we stay in do. We did ask for a room on ground floor when we booked as have had knee op, but as it was a double executive we realise that room was on 2nd floor, this was fine but feel that when we put the request in at time of booking we should have had an e mail explaining that the room we booked was on 2nd floor so we could have had a chance to change if necessary, otherwise all good.

Fantastic location, lovely food, massive portions, clean and lovely rooms, lovely hotel. Staff at breakfast didnt remember whose order was taken, and our breakfasts on first day were given to someone else, when questioned they didnt realise. Second day we waited nearly 30mins to place our order.

We enjoyed our stay as the staff were very friendly, polite and nothing was too much trouble. The room (24) was spacious and comfortable. The food was well presented, very enjoyable and served efficiently. The fact that residents could not book a table in the restaurant. We were there for a celebration and although the food was very good, eating in the bar area was not the same.

everything was very well organised room had everything that was needed quite perfect having to pick a full meal in the evening instead of having a snack/sandwich would have liked a bar menu different to restaurant would have liked somewhere to sit and read papers/relax apart from bar area as this made us feel uncomfortable because we didn't buy a drink (too early in morning)

This is a gem of a hotel full of character. The staff are excellent. The quality of the food was second to none. Breakfast was especially nice with a fantastic choice. I used this hotel as a business trip and I would certainly come back and visit on business and leisure and I would recommend any one who visits north wales and explore Caernarfon to stop there you wont be disappointed.
