Easy to get to, location wise. The staff were very friendly. The full English breakfast was superb! The hotel was a little bit dated. It could do with a freshen up and modernising.

The hotel was a lovely place, the room was a lovely room and nice and clean. The facilities available were good. The dining room was nice and light and welcoming. The staff left a bit to be desired, although polite enough the waiter only had 2 couples in the dining room and still managed to get the order the wrong way round, and they gave the impression we were an inconvenience to them.

The room was quiet & warm and the bed was clean & comfortable. The cooked breakfast was plentiful and good. The "bar" is a cubby hole in reception wall with 4 basic drinks on optic and some bottled goods. Ok for a night or two sleep-over but definitely no longer. I have said I would not recommend the hotel to others and there is no option to make comments there so to clarify - if you just want a bed for the night, yes recommended, for anything else, no not recommended. At breakfast on Sunday morning we breakfasted with 2 other couples (both young) and could clearly hear that they were not familiar with each other as they were asking things like what does the other do for a living and what time do they normally get up on a Sunday ..... make your own mind up! Cleaning standards are poor. Eye-level cleaning mainly. In our bathroom (room 2) the tops of the shaving light had thick dust, the water glass (one only!!) had not been cleaned properly and there was visible old toothpaste marks on the bottom (inside) of it. The tiles had hair on them and the toilet brush was dirty - disgusting!!! The edges of the room were not clean and nor were the pipes that run along the bottom of the walls, When we emptied water from the basin it came back up the drain in the shower tray - not good! In the bedroom (which was very very small) again very dusty above and below eye-level and the thermostat had fallen off the heater and was lying on the floor. The window frames have black grime in the corners and edges, one of the curtains was not fully attached to the curtain rail, and the wardrobe had a mixture of coat- hangers, mainly wire ones - this is a big no no in hotels. The kettle cable has some kind of extension added to it but it is very heavy and pulls the kettle towards the edge of the counter (dangerous). The tea tray had only one spoon, an old wooden handled thing, and for some obscure reason: a fork! Only one packet of 2 biscuits for two people. I requested another water glass for the room and was given a John Smiths pint beer glass. I think Room 2 has been a single room at one time and now is a double owing to the placement of a wall light about a third of the way across the head of the bead. Beware it is hard to miss with your head if you sit in bed and it is metal and hurts when you hit your head on it!! Sorry Bath Hotel but I used to run hotels and you really need to pay attention to detail and cleanliness

The location, the welcome, the price, the helpfulness, the cleanliness...In error I put my alarm clock back an hour instead of forward on Saturday night, so I arrived down for breakfast next day two hours later than I thought. Staff were very kind and understanding, however, and managed to rustle up a simple breakfast, even though everything had been cleared away! Enjoyed it all!

Nice hotel. We only stayed overnight and only saw 1 member of staff, the young man was very helpful and cooked us a lovely breakfast. From what we saw of the hotel it looked nice although abit tired looking in some places. Room smelt abit musty when we first arrived and the carpet wwas not fitted very well. Thought the room was abit overpriced for what we got .

The guy on reception was quite welcoming & the young lady who served breakfast was very pleasant The room's temperature was acceptable. The bathroom needed a dam good clean. The bed didn't have a mattress protector & the pillows had no pillow protectors & only one pillow case . The door felt very unsecure so I put a chair against it. The lighting was very bad

Walking distance to city centre. Greeted by a young lad who lacked social skills. Noisy till gone 11pm then again from 6.15am. Bathroom dated and in need of a good scrub (broken toilet roll holder). Light above mirror in the bedroom not working and doorhandle hanging off. Overpriced for what you get.

The location was good for my visit to reading. The hotel staff were not too bad. It was clean. The breackfast was good. The reseption was lovely and warm I would stay at this hotel again at the rate i paid. The room was cold. It was almost freezing outside and the heating had only just come on when i arrived at 3.00PM. The heating was not on in the morning. Not even in the dining room.

I was welcomed respectfully. The room was clean and although it was at the front on a busy road the double glazing proved quite efficient and I quickly ignored the traffic sounds. The ensuite was modern and there were extra towels. The breatkfast was tasty and plenty of choice. I am very fussy about cleanliness and would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. I recommend it confidently. Well I would have liked some porridge but hey, the eggs were softly poached as I had asked so no worries.
