Charming hotel, with very pleasant and attentive staff. Rooms spacious and comfortable. I had the vegetarian breakfast which was surprisingly tasty.

We had dinnernd there a found the food underwhelming for the price.

Good sized comfortable room. Good choice at breakfast, although some items carry a supplement. Helpful staff who sorted out a problem very quickly.

Food and drink are pricey, although food is vey well executed. There are other options in Woodstock if you don't want to pay these prices.

Our room was "nice" and we like the ambience of the Bear having stayed on quite a few occasions.

Breakfast was indifferent and the cooked breakfast had obviously been kept hot for some while rather than being cooked freshly.

the rooms were clean and tidy the rooms were well sized for what we paid. The food was good for the price,

Parking you need to be quick to get a park near your room. Staff were nice but not overly friendly. No directions were given to our room, we had to find ourselves.

Lots of charm and character. Service and staff were excellent. Wonderful distance (just a short stroll) to Blenheim Palace.

F & B prices are a bit on the high side.

This was a return visit for us. We were students in the 70s and it was a popular venue for 21st birthdays! It was my husband's birthday treat following a day in Oxford. All great. Loved the room, worth upgrading, the evening meal and breakfast in our room.

    Nothing at all to criticise.

    Friendly staff,Location

Our room(40).The door was damaged at the bottom, the lights flickered constantly, the lukewarm shower. Noise from the pub opposite kept us awake.Could not park in the hotel car park, not enough spaces.Good job it was just the one night.

Just the general ambiance and the wonderful town that the historical Woodstock is.

Nothing really to complain about as the weather was so good A very very happy experience for us and out guests.

Room was very comfortable and well equipped. Excellent evening meal and excellent breakfast. Location perfect.

Professionalism of dining room staff did not match the excellent quality of the food.

Staff at the Hotel were nice, helpful and always ready to assist in any capacity.

I booked a twin room for my wife and I but on the first night could not sleep, noisy residents above. The furnishings were in need of updating and chairs quite old and uncomfortable. Breakfasts could be much improved. The poached eggs I had tasted of vinegar. I would not stay again at this hotel unless it improved its standards.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, very welcoming and friendly. The food in the restaurant was excellent, as was the service. A great stay and we will be back!

There wasn't anything that we weren't happy about

The hotel is wonderful, the staff couldn't be more helpful, the room was clean and cosy and the bed provided the most comfortable nights sleep I've ever had.

The cost of food and drink to eat in is quite expensive, nice for a special occasion, but better to eat out price wise.

The central location of the hotel.

Patrons at pub opposite were quiet loud and were present to late at night. Lighting in square opposite hotel.

Easy check in. Friendly staff, beautiful room, good facilities, tasty breakfast and on the whole a satisfying experience.

Some cobwebs here and there, stuffy room without proper ventilation made it difficult to breath in the night.

Authentic English Inn experience. Nice rooms, friendly staff. Great access to Blenheim Palace (walk). Nice breakfast. Acceptable WiFi. Convenient parking.

Sloping floors (expected), sofa bed a bit uncomfortable. But, overall great.

Loved the Nexpresso machine in the room! The Concierge was excellent. Nice size room.

Difficult to fill bath - the plug is one of the rolly types that just got rolled over every time you put the tap on.

The staff noticed it was our wedding anniversary and left us a card with a small box of chocolates a very thoughtful gesture. Can't fault the staff they all went out of their way to be helpful.

There was nothing I didn't like about the hotel. It was a bit warm in the rooms but that is down to the age of the building and not really a fault as we are experiencing really hot temperatures at the moment.

The hotel is in the centre of Woodstock which and within easy walking distance of Blenheim Palace. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Parking is good. There are lots of pubs and restaurants in the village catering to various tastes and budgets.

When I wanted a bog standard blended whisky, the bar didn't have any cheaper whiskies and I had to pay for a single malt at exorbitant prices, (about £16 for a double from a bottle of Balvenie that costs £32 in any supermarket). I felt slightly cheated to say the least!
