Friendly staff, lovely building, comfortable room and very good bathroom. The breakfast was overpriced and there weren't sufficient clean plates set out at the buffet. |

Visited Blenheim palace! Walked around the pretty village of Woodstock. Cream teas are excellent. The food and service were of a very High quality. It was nice to sit by a nice log fire with a bottle of wine for added company!! The only complaint was that the bed where 2 singles put together and described as a double bed! Room was very warm even without heating on.But in the coming winter months that would not be an issue!! |

The accomodating staff was wonderful, when staying at a 4 or 5 star hotel, I expect to never hear the word "No". The staff was delighful, relaxed, and friendly. We were traveling with an infant, which can be exhausting, and were offered a larger room with a separate living room to better accomodate our little one and his early bedtime, at no cost to us. It was great to have a glass of wine and relax while the baby slept peacefully. The hotel is very old, which is part of the charm, but the rooms are updated with modern ammenities. The bar and rest area are cozy and nice, and their parking is convenient and free of charge, another plus. I am pretty darn picky, and I thought this place was excellent. |

Convenient to Blenheim, car-parking good, room & bathroom good size (if a little bland), breakfast staff & food good. Hotel generally attractive but a little up-dating to the "shabby chic" would not go amiss eg. upstairs lounge very boring. Hotel still trading under past good standards - some of these are now missing. Dining as a single person was not a pleasant experience - diningroom staff not welcoming - separated from other diners. £2 charge for using credit card is unbelievable! |

Although we only stayed one night at the Bear we found that from arrival to departure the service was excellent. We had a lovely character room at the front of the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed Dinner in the Restaurant which we felt was excellent value and the breakfast too! Excellent stay |

The sense of history in the hotel whilst retaining luxury accomodation was excellent. Rooms were modern whilst retaining the old world charm. limited menu in the restaurant which was expensive. |

Very nice staff, very helpfull and enthusiastic. The evening room bed turn down service, especially topping up tea and coffee which we had used was a very nice touch. Only a very small point, the tv was not tuned to all BBC channels, I think the world service and BB2 were available, but not BBC 1? |
