This modern hotel is in the middle of Portsmouth, just 1700 ft from Portsmouth and Southsea Train Station. The Ibis Hotel Portsmouth has a 24-hour snack menu, on-site parking and a stylish restaurant....

Staff were great, helpful and friendly. Beds were comfortable and rooms a decent size. Breakfast was very good.
This place is a bit run down.
Old hotel, needs a complete makeover. Furniture was all broken, bed was like a hammock, duvet didn't fit in the cover, bathroom sink dirty with hair all stuck in the plug hole. Don't book.
Excellent service, good food and comfy room
First time we stayed here was over thirty years ago could do with a bit of tlc in the bedrooms restaurant and bar are fine ,staff friendly and helpful plus had nice meal .We came down for family funeral so not in the best frame of mind to give in depth review
As I said a bit unfair to be over critical due to the reason of our visit
Great breakfast. Extremely comfy bed with feather pillows and duvet. Big modern TV. Very pet friendly. Big bathroom. Big room. Good price. Very warm, not skimping on heating.
The building is a little bit tired but didn't matter because of all the positives.
Great staff , very good breakfast , very warm . Great value , we'll stay more often
-Hours of business. No breakfast before 8.00, no bar after 11 on Friday night. -Hotel needs a facelift. Furniture in rooms very tired.
The whole place is dirty the carpet was so dirty you could not take your shoes off the bathroom had mould every where and the toilet was all stained
THE FOOD WAS REALLY GOOD, WONDERFUL BREAKFAST WHICH WAS INCLUDED IN THE £50 A NIGHT PRICE. EVENING MEAL LOVELY AND GOOD VALUE. STAFF VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. FACILITIES BASIC BUT MORE THAN ACCEPTABLE, WISH WE COULD HAVE STAY MORE THAN 1 NIGHT, WE WOULD DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN
THE ONLY THING I CAN REALLY THINK OF WAS THE LACK OF HAND SOAP IN THE BATHROOM, AND MAYBE 2 BATH TOWELS WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER THAN 1.
It was obviously a good, well run hotel. There was nothing particularly outstanding, either good or bad. The food, both breakfast and the evening meal, was good.
My room was a curiously shaped attic. The walls were largely vertical but the room's angles were a curiosity, as was the resultant angle of the bed in the room. This wasn't really a problem. Finding the light switch, which was partly behind a wardrobe, was tricky. As with many inner city hotels, finding it was fairly hard and the access to the parking was similarly a little difficult.
STAFF WERE EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND PREPARED TO RESEARCH TO ANSWER ONES QUESTIONS. WELL STOCKED BAR IN PUB WITH ASPALLS CIDER,CAN'T BE BAD! PLENTY OF PARKING SPACE ON THE DOOR STEP. SMACK IN THE MIDDLE OF TOWN.
BATHROOM NEEDS AN OVERHAUL.
Very good value for bed and breakfast. Good choice for breakfast.Plenty of hot water.
Thin curtains with security lights shining in from the next door property.
Great location and good value. Comfortable and warm rooms and beds. Pleasant atmosphere and helpful staff. Lovely breakfast. Recommended.
Decor needs an upgrade.
Friendly helpful staff and breakfast was excellent
Nice bar area
Shower was not connected to the wall and the window did not close - staff rather unhelpful / unapologetic here.
Comfortable bed Good shower Good breakfast service Value for money
Rooms are well used but good value for money
Location excellent for stop over en route to/from Gatwick using public transport. Staff were very friendly and helpful & the room was spacious, plus the bed was deliciously comfortable!
My room was unfortunately located near a machine/extractor that ran all night, and I did find it disturbing. The bathroom was spacious, but whoever designed the layout seemed not to need to sit on the toilet to use it! It was wedged between the wall and the bath, confined next to the heated towel rail.
Lovely powerful shower & Christmas secs are lovely. Very friendly staff. Thanks
Just ready for new carpets in communal areas and new curtains to bedroom...but that is my line of work!!
Everything was very good and I will return there again. I would also recommend to others. It is very good value for money and a good location. We also enjoyed the breakfast with the fresh fruit and yogurt. Thank you all. :)
No lift so if you have a heavy bag or two, then it is a little bit of a struggle. But I understand it is an old building and probably not conducive to a lift!
Great location, very close to Portsmouth we used the train service the station was only a five minute walk from The Bear staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was excellent.
We booked two rooms. hallways and rooms need a make over, no hairdryer, the bathroom sink bowl had chips in it, toilet handle was loose, the other room smelt damp almost as if there had been a water leak, they were obviously aware of this as it had a plugin fresh air in the bedroom.
Food , staff. ,beds.
The meals were good
The bedroom standard was poor. The window was so rotten daylight was visible through the frame! The carpet was stained, the curtains were falling down & the shower cubicle leaked. Very Poor room!
Beds are comfy and the room was well kept
Room was very hot in the morning
Everything in one place - car park, bar, restaurant - breakfast & evening meal very good. Shops, bus & train station nearby. Will definitely stay again.
The location was ideal for my work, room comfortable and shower very powerful and hot. Breakfast was good and included in the price which was very reasonable. Free parking also very handy.
Wifi didn't work too well in the room, and neither did the television remote control
