The lady who signed me in in and who served me in the bar later, Debby, I think, was very helpful. It was a pleasure to be served by her The walls are far too thin. I was in room 31 and, whilst it was not an entirely unpleasant experience, listening to the couple in the throes of passion in the room next door was not conducive to a good night's sleep. They were not being unusually active or noisy either.

Cheap...if you're fussy about having 20 towels in your bathroom, or power points on every wall then don't stay here. If you're in Loughborough visiting mates, having a night out or need somewhere cheap to crash for the night then it's perfect and really good value.

My room was quiet despite being located near the main road. The bathroom was very clean and warm. Wind coming through my window. Didn't get the room type I had booked even though at the time of the booking the website said 4 were available. Mirror light in the bathroom was not working. The bedside lamp was not working + nowhere to plug it in near the bed anyway... Having to walk through the bar to get the hotel reception.

The staff were friendly. The hotel wasn't very nice; the hallways smelled pretty frowsy. The entrance was very obvious.

The website says "free wifi through the entire hotel" but this is wrong, the wifi is only available in the bar and on my whole stay it never worked. The staff was clueless about that. In the room, there was a really strong cigarette smell. The light in the bathroom was not working and the staff never came to replace it despite us asking several times.

Location. Filthy environment. Broken main entrance door lock and filthy. What looked shady characters smoking right next to the main entrance and spitting with vulgarity. Main access gate code on full display on main entrance door apparently safe car park for guest! Bed sheets and towels with stains. Not happy given an inappropriate twin-room with unacceptable shower room for me.

Location The rooms were small and there was no hair dryer. Breakfast was OK, but could have been better e.g. include mushrooms, tomatoes and/or fried bread. Although clean, generally the whole building seeemd dark and gloomy.

The complaint about our rooms was delt with quickly and well. We were given rooms on the ground floor over looking the bars patio there was a party on the first night of our stay with loud music untill midnight and loud conversation and laughter until nearly 2 am. The bathrooms were also very small the second room I had if the radiator had been on you could have burnt your knees sitting on the loo

Didn't like anything!!! My Company booked 2 double rooms which were accepted on your website and confirmed. When we arrived at the hotel we were given twin-bedded rooms although the booking was for double bedrooms. When the receptionist was challenged about this merely replied, "the bookings must have "crossed-over" and there were no double rooms left". Very poor - we will be registering a complaint through your website, as this is totally unacceptable. We should have been advised via the contact details if subsequently there were no double rooms left, so we could have made alternative arrangements. However, at that time of night we had no option other than to stay there. Disgraceful!!

Would not recomend, very poor standard. Don't know how the fire officer passed it as safe, stairs very tight and low, steps to room very steep and small, slip easy. Over all the it was very grubby. Most staff were pleasant. Area around the hotel very run down. Would not recomend, very poor standard. We found the staff really helpful. They even loaned their own iron and board to us because all the others were already taken by other guests. Definitely pleasant and friendly service. We stayed two nights to attend our daughter's graduation ceremony at Loughborough University - the hotel is very central and only a five minute walk from the town centre with all the shops and bars. It's not a complaint because for the price it's excellent value. The rooms and hotel were really clean but parts of the hotel look a little run down but it is a very old building and has plenty of character.
