Late badly presented breakfasts, gloomy room decor
Time in the pool
Breakfast a bit disappointing.
The location was excellent.
Would have expected better for £160 B&B. The shower in the room was terrible and the breakfast staff slow and not friendly. The two of us sat on a table for four with the previous occupants dirty plates left there the entire time. Took 15 minutes to be offered tea or coffee. Poached eggs arrived but where as hard as bullets. Parking was also an issue as is not just for hotel guests. Dirty bed and table linens lined one of the corridors and untidy linen cupboard doors were left open. Not a pleasant sight when walking down the stairs.
Very friendly staff excellent facilities ideal location for Bedford and surrounding area
Pillows a little hard and noise from a late Christmas party
The staff were so helpful and pleasant. The rooms I had were so comfortable and welcoming. The facilities wre excellent - loved the pool and jacuzzi. Lovely to be able to have a massage on site.
everything. lovely looking hotel. room was also very nice and therefore made it excellent value for money. receptionist was extremely helpful and informative. Tried to give me a quiet room away from the xmas parties.
being woken up 4:00am by other guests. It was like someone was dropping a suitcase on the floor from their bed every 5 minutes.
Breakfast Nice warm bedroom
but I did not like it served on a cold, wet plate. I asked for poached eggs on toast - it was cold, tough, had been made fore ages and was not buttered. Very cold in lounge, restaurant and bar
Location in city centre, good size rooms.
Not sufficient secure parking spaces, breakfast not really good. Too expensive for what you get.
Everything! The suite was beautiful and immaculately clean... The bed was really comfortable... The view across the river was lovely... And when there was a lot of noise due to a function going on below we were immediately moved with no fuss. It really was fabulous and my husband and I would love to return on our first anniversary!
It was very noisy due to a Christmas function but as I said, we were moved immediately so it did not interrupt our stay... The key is obviously to speak to reception staff if this happens.
Excellent location right in the heart of Bedford Although an additional charge was made for the car park it was secure and well lit.
Room decor was tired with flaking pain on the skirting boards Room service food arrived cold and then after complaining was replaced with tepid food. The reception staff were graciuos enough to take the food charge off the bill which was very much appreciated.
Went with a friend for a 40th birthday, the hotel was lovely, rooms nice and clean, beds comfy. Nice and quiet and staff couldn't have been more helpful. Like fact that can use swimming pool so next time costume will be taken. Will be bring my husband in June for his birthday and upgrade to a bigger suite :-) close to town centre and right on river. Great value for money.
I think the breakfast a little expensive at £14 so went out to a cafe. Also we had afternoon tea which was lovely but a couple of the cakes were dry.
A beautiful hotel with lots of original features, friendly staff and quitisensualy english
Suite was excellent and worth the money
Invest in a sauna and steam room to go with your leisure facilities
Very small double room..bad service in restaurant..the woman who runs around at breakfast..waitress with glasses..is an accident waiting to happen..i have reported this on at least 3 occasions over my last few visits..to no avail!!
Stylish and comfortable
The bar area is gloomy and the staff were slow .
The general ambience of the hotel and its "country house" feel
I found the lighting in my room much to dim to read by - even in bed with the bedside lamp on. Using my cam in Skype was near impossible while sitting at the desk
Comfy bed, great location. They also had on a beer festival which was fantastic with a great carvery.
the location and style, I have stayed here many times before, but things have changed
the noise at night 415 am people arriving back shouting and doors slamming, then the security guard and his radio then dogs barking at 6 am absolutely no sleep also the parking is a public carpark and you might not get in
The staff were wonderful: attentive, helpful and charming
Nice location and good views from bedroom, extremely comfy bed and superb breakfast!
Cost of room service
I liked the room as it was comfy and a good size, also there was a kettle and hot chocolate with tea and coffee in the room the bathroom was clean and everything seemed to be okay overall.
The bathroom size could have been better also it was very humid and hot at night. The room location was vad as every 15mins the town clock went of and every hour it would wake either me or my partner up which was a shame.
The staff were excellent. The building is a interesting old property. Location on the river and at end of high street was ideal.
On Third morning the breakfast was not the best as buffet items had been in the latrines for too long and gone hard. Having said this if we had requested fresh brought to the table I am sure the staff would have accommodated.
Couldn't have wished for a better room in a top class hotel with an amazing ambience
The general ambience of the hotel, an air of old world standards with a hint of the modern. The pleasant staff. The comfortable room and the excellent breakfast Free Wi-Fi
The charge to Park - on top of rate for a premium room
