The Park Inn by Radisson Bedford is a wonderfully vibrant hotel, set in the busy market town of Bedford.
Score from 272 reviews Good
The Embankment Hotel is in a beautiful location beside the Ouse River. Only a short walk from the center of town, this riverside setting overlooks quiet gardens and a Victorian bridge.

Great location and comfortable room
Breakfast staff are still poor as this wasn't my first stay here. Lots of tables left dirty with few made up tables to use. The shower in the room was either freezing or boiling hot!!
I was met by a warm smile and a new member of staff really wanting to help. The view was excellent and overlooked the river. Most pleasingly of all, the bed was comfortable. I highly recommend hitting the spa too.
Pool wasn't available, which is main reason we chose this hotel
Situation of hotel next to river.enjoyed the museum and it's excellent attendant Italian restaurant. Good for shopping.
Hotel jaded with no comfortable lounges if you didn't want to eat.Poor breakfast and bar food and staff lacking charm.Few good restaurants nearby and many closed on Mondays.
Location and the building
Staff were trying to help over the dinner. Peter, the restaurant manager did help but this was a compromise table on our own. Believe that there were others in the same position as us.
Great staff, decent food.
Didn't like the location of my room. I asked for a river view but didn't get it.
The hotel is in a lovely position,in the town & by the river. We found the staff very attentive & very helpful. The food was lovely, something for everyone at breakfast & the restaurant serves a wonderful chocolate tart!
The bathroom was too cold! Being all marble the floor was really cold after taking a shower/bath,there just wasn't enough heat from the towel rail to heat the room the room as well.
Very nice room for a reasonable price.
Booked the lowest price room so not a very good view. Parking and room service are very expensive. Radio stations didn't work properly.
Updated decor and carpets, etc. public rooms were welcoming and comfortable. Bed excellent. Breakfast served in pleasant room with views of river.
Difficulties with Wifi
There was a party going on in the room below ours and the reception had deliberately unplugged our phone so that we couldn't complain. I did finally finish about 00:30 but it would have been nice to be informed when we checked in.
It was clean. Lovely breakfast
We had a lovely stay, the facilities were great.
The best Deluxe rooms are above the function room so if you're looking to get an early night either bring ear defenders or choose another room.
Views from room overlooking water
car park was full so couldn't park
Rooms comfortable, service friendly.
Room service used twice - both times they forgot essential items and had to come back again. Walls very thin so very noisy if your neighbour was inconsiderate.
Great Location, quite grand appearance both internally and externally. Staff quote polite and helpful.
Pool area was disappointing, a bit dated, no towels.
The room was marvellous with a great view of the river.
Bit of a hike to get to the room. Pool not available with no notice given at booking.
Room, bed, hotel facilities (kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool) and view of the canal
Checking out early. A 14:00 check-out would be nicer
Restaurant closed NYE so could not get anything to eat in hotel or room service
The hotel is very comfortable with good areas in the reception and bar to sit and relax. The rooms are clean and comfortable and very suitable for short stays. The location (on the river) is very nice.
The free Wifi is really poor and the bathroom tap system is a bit confusing. Also, the fact that guests have to pay £5 per night to park is certainly not a plus point.
Staff, location ,warmth and comfort.Peaceful bedroom with great views.Generous breakfast with great service.A relaxed atmosphere combined with the efficient staff makes it a good place to stay for both leisure and business.
Dinner . great wine, thanks for the birthday bubbly! Service pleasant and good. Two scallops for my starter seemed a bit tight as did my tiny fish.
Food in the restaurant was great and so was the location of the hotel.
As this is a spa hotel I was very disappointed when they said the spa is closed until next month. There was no reason given other than "just". The hotel staff are not the friendliest nor is there customer service. The receptionist wasn't friendly. This became worse at the restaurant. We were greeted by a woman who was on the phone, after her call there ws no acknowledgement and we waited whilst she did paperwork infront of us until a waiter noticed we were waiting patiently who then took us to our table. after dining and paying our cheque we walked past 4 staff at the restaurant entrance, I said thank you and goodnight and they ignored the comment and continued to have their own conversation. I wasn't impressed with their customer service or lack of manners. I won't be staying here again
