The Bell Hotel & Inn21 Bedford St, MK17 9QB Woburn (Show map) Good, Score from 97 reviews“value for money . B'fast was excellent”
Sennett,
Washington Pulborough Uk
Dating back to the 17th century, the Bell Hotel & Inn has been restored it to its former beauty. Woburn Abbey and Safari Park are a 5 minute drive away. The Bell Inn is a delightful English country public house, restaurant and hotel. It offers free Wi-Fi in each bedroom, and in public areas of the building. The bar area and the rooms above were added during the Victorian era and the furnishings and fittings have been chosen to blend in with these 2 distinct periods. Rich in traditional character, the restaurant features exposed wooden beams and an original fireplace. The restaurant offers a cozy, warm atmosphere in which to enjoy dishes from the adventurous and interesting menu. All of the hotel’s 24 rooms with private bathrooms are tastefully decorated and equipped with modern facilities. There are 4 first-floor rooms and 5 feature rooms for special occasions. Hotel Rooms: 24, Hotel Chain: Old English Inns.

The Hotel is clean and comfortable and the lounge areas modern and nicely decorated with television and books available. Some good countryside walks are close by the hotel and there are lots of picturesque places to visit. There is good food to be had in the restaurant and the breakfast is excellent with good choices available. I did not like the filthy white phone on the reception desk we had to use to summon staff for check in/out. I was reluctant to put it to my ear, but hopefully this may have been rectified after I pointed it out to staff.

The location is good, and the breakfast/breakfast staff are very good. Our complaints however are detailed below. We upgraded to a luxury room. Very disappointing - the tap was broken, the bathroom mirror was smashed on one side - one of the handles on the wardrobe door was missing - the sleigh bed could have done with a polish - the hotel was noisy at night with lots of door slamming. We have stayed before, because we have family close by and there is not room for us to stay with them. We would probably not choose to stay again unless our disappointments are addressed. We look forward to receiving your response. Yours sincerely, Roger and Jane Goldsmith

Good satff, very comfortable room My room was very close to the main road. Traffic noise very evident from about 6am.I Would go back but would insist on a room away from the road. Other guests I stayed with all enjoyed their saty.

Very pleasant place, quiet, easy parking, very good breakfast plenty of hot water (so be careful!) one of the few hotels that I would be happy to return to! Thought it quirky that breakfast was included but latte coffee was charged as an extra?????

Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Bed was comfy. The Oyster Festival in Woburn was fun, although we were at a wedding most of the day. Quite difficult to find the room. Having to go out onto the patio and then into a different door and up fire escape stairs. It appeared that the door from pub to the stairs was locked, hence having to go outside first,

The breakfast Being woken up twice in the night by the shriek of the fire alarm. No apology or explanation was given until we asked.

A boarded-up window in a "superior" double-room? Don't think you'd get that anywhere else! We're from Ascot, and there's no hotel in our area that would stand for that! Changed to a claustophobic ground floor room, with a stale-smelling bathroom, for ten quid off the bill. Dreadful value for money. The food was of poor quality, and breakfast was a joke. The one redeeming factor was the clean linen and the helpfulness of the staff. I wouldn't stay here again, and I wouldn't recommend it. This isn't a four star hotel, more three star. Room for improvement without a shadow of a doubt.......Oh, and told at check-out that my card had been declined in front of a group of other people was the last straw! I had over three thousand in my account, and was told it was the faulty card machine's fault! Worth noting we won't be staying here again.....!

Good location, staff in the restaurant were excellent, good breakfast. The rooms were very small and cold, poor lighting in hall ways and back entrance, could be dangerous. We did report this!

The hotel was ideally situated for our purposes. We were attending a wedding at the Sculpture Gallery at Woburn Abbey. The hotel is looking a bit tired and could do with some tlc. The breakfact at the Inn was very good. As I have written in the above comments, tired, needs some tlc. Bathroom was small and the shower leaks all over the place.

I stayed in a single room which was small, but clean. The room included a small bathroom, equipped with a new shower. The breakfast was included and you could order roughly 8 items off a menu in addition to the continental breakfast. Service was a little slow but not too bad. The food was very good. I stayed in january and booked a non refundable rate (50 pounds per night including breakfast). Fantastic value for the money. Love Woburn as a town. Only drawback is during rush hour the one street through town is busy busy busy, including trucks. Its wonderful when that is over.

The staff were all really friendly and helpful and were full of ideas on what to do and how to get to the large shopping centre nearby. The English breakfast included in the price of the stay was the best we've had at a hotel. We also had an evening meal in the Inn and it was delicious, freshly prepared and using mostly local organic produce. We found it excellent value for money. The room was comfortable and the bed was very comfortable. we would definately stay there again and would recommend it to friends.

The location was perfect for Woburn golf. The room was well presented although the bathroom was very small. The hotel also has its own bar across the road which we found very good the beers were well kept and the food was good value for money. Makes a change from being caught with hotel prices for the evening. I liked the feel of the hotel private and quiet but not stuffy. I would definately stay again.
