The Beresford  

Lovely friendy people we were made so welcome and the price per night was brilliant, will deffinatly go to the bereford again when we want a night away

The overall break was a complete delight ,nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff very friendly and welcoming. me and my wife would like to thank jen and dave for a wonderful weekend ,We would definatly go here again. mr and mrs c baber

First we got a telephone call to ask what time of the day we are going to arrive, followed by great welcome on the actual day of arrival. The location is excellent regarding sea front, shops, railway station, pubs & restaurants. The breakfast menu was excellent and service very friendly & exteremely polite. We were even presented with chocolate eggs before the Easter Sunday breakfast. The guest house is spotlessly clean, very homely & cosy, and the owners are doing their best to make us feel at home and very welcome. Thank you for a very comfortable and enjoyable Easter break, and with no hesitation we would recommend The Beresford to our firends.

I thoroughly enjoyed my one night stay at the Beresford. I was offered a pot of tea on arrival and then shown to my very comfortable small double room. The location is excellent regarding shops, sea front and in my case the railway station. There are also several local restaurants within walking distance. The breakfast menu was excellent with all usual cereals followed by a cooked breakfast. I have no hesitation in recommending the Beresford and will stay again when I fancy another trip to Torbay.

This was the best guest house I have ever stayed in. The owners obviously try very hard to exceed your expectations. It is homely and friendly, far better than some general purpose impersonal hotel.

The Beresford has some of its own parking, but the area can get a bit congested.

First of all we got a phone call to ask when we were going to arrive the next day, a very nice touch. On arrival we were greeted by David with a smile and a nice cuppa! We were shown to our rooms and then the key was ours. Jen & David made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble, a very friendly atmosphere all round.

Nothing, I would stay there again anytime!

David & Jean were very welcoming, my room was very nicely arranged and comfortable. The breakfast was hearty.

I'm fussy about pillows but that's just me!

If all B&B hotels were like The Beresford the world would be a better place. Spotlessly clean, very welcoming and efficient proprietors. The breakfasts were excellent quality with generous proportions. Ample hot water, comfy lounge and , thank heavens, mobile phones discouraged in the breakfast room. The smaller rooms were fine for a short break while the larger would be ideal for any length of stay and we found the location to be quiet. Ideally placed for beach, the high street, the coast path, the buses, the cinema, the rugby club etc etc. If one were searching for fault perhaps the tomatoes should have been cut across the circumference rather than vertically but that's about it! No doubt in the summer parking could become a bit tight but that's the south coast for you. In short if they hadn't been fully booked we would have stayed longer. No doubt we'll stay at The Beresford again but book early!
