We found this a wonderfully characterful hotel in an excellent location. The room was very clean and well presented. We ate in the cheaper restaurant, but the food was excellent and the service good. The bar is really comfortable and a great place to relax. Everything about our stay was fine and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Restaurant service was a bit slow. Staff (though generally friendly and helpful) could work on politeness to guests. Rooms on the street get noise from the pubs and restaurants. However none of this bothered us particularly.
The comfort, the décor, the log fires, the friendly bar staff.
Beautiful hotel good staff very well apportioned panelled room with sea view Locitaine bathroom products We will definitely go back we also visited Saltys next door hidden gem of a fish restaurant
Steps in bathroom could have been difficult for some room 26
The finest detail on every level .
The building, ambience, friendliness of staff, great food, good value for money
Didnt stay long enough!
Staff absolutely outstanding, very professional, helpful and polite
Cosy feel, Lunch in the superb garden overlooking the Solent. Beautiful room with wood panelled walls. Friendly staff, overall a delightful weekend retreat.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Room was clean and the views over the harbour were superb. Food was excellent and good value for money. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone. Five star service
ambiance, food , view and the staff
no AC, noisy over street and 5am deliveries, staff chatting with the van drivers. would not recommend anyone to stay in room 12
Staff great. Beds also. We only had afternoon tea and breakfast but it was very good
A+ for the staff
Meals only fair. Lack of parking is a major problem.
Character and atmosphere Friendly and helpful staff Well trained staff.
No lift, and only 1 room on ground floor for the disabled. The menu didn`t change in the 4 nights we were there, so rather limiting, which was disappointing
Breakfast was excellent
The history of this place makes it very special. It combines the old feel of the past with modern amenities beautifully. Brilliant hotel!
All aspects of the hotel were positive, lovely bright airy room, staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. I would definitely go back.
No negative comments.
This Hotel makes you forget everything and in fact feels like you are going back in time as it allows you to celebrate its history and traditional values. Most modern hotels are very sterile with a corporate personality; this place reminds us of what a good Hotel should be.
Parking, the car parks unlike some do not allow you to buy a ticket that once you go past the "free period" your payment does automatically transfer to the next morning (You have to for every hour even when its free!". I strongly recommend that you devise a voucher system with the authorities or request they sort this issue out. I had to run out mid breakfast to pay for the next days parking!
Location perfect. Bed really comfortable and breakfast was very good. Excellent reception team who bent over backwards to get us a taxi on a very busy night.
Restaurant and outside garde luch and dinner
The room was amazing and the bed so comfortable . A luxurious bathroom and generally felt really spoilt.
The service at breakfast was not that good .
Old rooms, but very comfortable and equipped. Great for couples.
Good food, relaxed atmosphere and waterside location.
Decor Helpful staff Location Food
Fairly noisy room but that is to be expected in the centre of Yarmouth and overlooking the main road. Next time I'll ask for another room away from the front of the hotel.
Bedroom very hot so needed to have windows open which then made the room extremely noisy especially early morning.Either a lightweight duvet or sheet would have helped to make it more comfortable. A freestanding fan would also have been a bonus.
outside area and service was very good. Nice young and polite junior staff. Stunning location on the waters edge which needs to be capitalised on with some more upgrades of furniture and perhaps some sun loungers
inside restaurant could be better orgainsed
