Having a chalet type room made this a different. The walls separating the rooms were not very sound insulating and you could here next doors TV and muffled telephone converstaions. |

very clean The restaurant was over-priced, with average food and poor service. The restaurant does have a lovely decor, though! |

The rooms were modern and clean, the food was really good. There was no note to say that it would take a long time for the hot water to flow through, I left the tap running for about 5 mins and was still cold. The staff at times did not know what they were doing and although we asked for menus these were not brought to us, we also booked a table for 8.15pm and was asked if we could have a drink first as it was really busy, this was not a problem but our table was in the bar and reserved so we could of sat at this and had a drink rather than standing at the bar. These are only small things that could be improved on but overall it was a good stay |

The food in the restaurant was lovely. Staff were very friendly. Our room was clean, spacious and well presented. The grounds were pretty and well kept. The mattress on the bed was too firm for us, consequently we didn't sleep very well and had back ache in the morning. We were sat at a small table in the restaurant which was right next to the bar and till. It was also right next to where the staff congregrated for a natter. This killed any atmosphere for us and spoiled what would have otherwise been a lovely dining experience. |

Friendliness of the staff and the excellent standard of the food. There was s trong smell of disenfectant on entering the room on the first evening - quite overpowing at first like that used in public toilets! |

I thought the rooms were beautiful, well appointed and furnished comfortably. The fans were also a nice touch and well appreciated. As a female travelling by myself i felt that i wasn't accommodated appropriately at meal times. I was sat at table 12 for my evening meal which, as you're aware, is situated near the waitresses station, the till and the bar. If i were part of a couple eating at this table it wouldn't have been too much of a problem to have people walking backwards and forwards past the table discussing the orders being taken, people standing at the bar to order drinks and the waitresses standing there almost waiting for us to finish. However as I was seated by myself I felt very uncomfortable and would have appreciated being seated somewhere slightly out of the way. The same goes for the morning sitting. I was sat by the front door, away from the majority of the other tables. What made this more galling was that there was a table set for 2 in front of me which would have been more appropriate to allow me to take my time and enjoy my breakfast but I felt that this was set for 2 hence why I didn't ask to move. However, one of the guests knew the bar man and the 2 sittings quickly became 1 and he was afforded the use of this table. Please just be a bit more aware of single travellers, especially females who appreciate a bit of privacy at meal times. I did raise this at the time when checking out but my shower didn't work properly in the morning, I had to keep turning the cold tap off in order to try and maintain a comfortable temperature and my heated towel rail didn't work which was slightly frustrating as I had relaxed in the bath in the evening but the towels weren't properly dry for after my morning shower. Thanks |
