Pubs friendly with good food. Short walk to room, less than 2 minutes. Easy Parking, WiFi, Tea/ Coffee in room. Would recommend.

Television small but not a big deal if the only negative.

The staff were very friendly, it felt like a typical English tavern, location great just off the motorway, yet convenient to the tunnel.

    The old Inn Food

I did not really feel myself appreciated as a guest. The signs on the premises confuses, when you have booked a room at The Black Horse Inn. The room is not at all in the inn, but otherwise organized under a nother name. If you want to dine outside, you have to fight for a table on your own.

The staff were excellent, couldn't be more helpful. Went out of their way to make us happy. A real atmospheric pub. Good location and great food. Reasonably priced wines as well.

Didn't like the beds or bedding. Pillows were horrible too. Beds seem to be very small. Don't know if they are a standard double. Maybe we are used to king size and we have forgotten what a double is like.

Loved the peaceful stunning location. We have stayed at The Black Horse on numerous occasions, and on Christmas day but sadly you don't do overnight stays on that particular day anymore.

The restaurant and bar were classic old England. The outdoor seating area was lovely.

    VERY hard bed.

The atmosphere was really good, a typical village pub with pluses! Plenty of parking and lovely meals. Great breakfast.

Accommodation fine but if you were disabled or elderly, quite a steep walk to some of the lodges.

Beautiful surroundings, comfortable and quaint accommodation. Very pleasant staff and good inclusive breakfast.

Would point out that the accommodation is on a very steep hill so for those less mobile it might be a problem.

Everything was clean, welll cared for and very comfortable. Our room was very quiet and there was a very good array of electrical appliances for heating or cooling the room as required. Good location with good access to the motorway but still in the middle of the countryside. Excellent all round venue

We had an excellent room but I wouldnt have wanted to be near the reception area as there would be lots of people walking past. One very minor gripe - I would have liked tissues in the room.

Great location. Restaurant food was good and the atmosphere in the bar was just what a country pub should be.

The bathroom facilities didn't match up to the standards of the rest of the accommodation.

The food, while pricey was excellent.

Poor wi-fi and phone reception, uncomfortable bed and pillow, dark rooms due to the wooded location, long walk up to the pub! Only come here if you want complete isolation from the world and social media, and bring flying insect spray.
