It was very good value for money and the rooms are decorated to a high standard with really nice toiletries, bedding and towels. The central heating was lovely and warm also and in walkinf distance of the town. We had a room very near the entrance/ reception area so we could hear the bell ringing.

Central location Room was a bit tired, no handset for the tv, no fridge, old carpet, bit noisy as on main road. Quite expensive for what was on offer.

Closeness to city centre Hotel needed a revamp especially the entrance hall. Room could have done with better cleaning. The website gave a false impression of the hotel and I would not have said it was 3 star.

Decent accommodation at very reasonable price. One of the few B&Bs open during Christmas holiday and therefore useful as relatives in city had no spare room. Will probably repeat next year. Standard of service good though limited during holiday as one man seemed to do everything reception. Breakfast, room cleaning, bar - but pleasant and cheerful, I have single occupancy of a double room - small for a single and would be very inconvenient for a double - better to let as a single with one bed; but on a previous visit I had a very good room so this may be an exception

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was basic but clean and neat and perfectly comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you. The room decor was a little tired/neglected. It could do with a lick of paint and the mirror and pictures nailed straight on the wall, then it would be perfect.

Good location, free car park, quiet The room was small, we were not provided with a mat for the bathroom so it was slippy when getting out the shower. Bathroom very cramped and shower temp fluctuated. There were big cracks in the wall that had been poorly covered and just a slight inconvenience was a lack of bedside lamp. Both me and my friend believe we were put in the room we were in because we had got the room at a cheaper price than if we had booked throught the hotel itself. We did not bother to complain as we weren't in the room much as we were out all day.

It was handy for getting into york The web site says that they do bar meals, well they don't so this is misleading we wanted to get one to the first night because we was tired and did'nt want to go back in to town.but we had no choice. I won't stay there again.

The time with my family and friends. The hotel is a 1/2 star rated incorrectly as a 3 star. Needs to be re- rated. Same star rating as The Churhill but not in same class. Staff friendly but that does not make up for all its deficiencies.

Good location Entrance looked shabby and in need of care and attention. Room very small and although seemed clean enough the bathroom smelt of damp. We had to ask for a toilet roll and this involved walking down about 6 flights of stairs as no means of communicating other than walking! Staff polite but not enough of them-when checking out there was only one person on duty cooking/serving breakfast and dealing with guests leaving. One bed was rickety and more suitable for a child than n adult.

Despite it being a room for six people it was comfortable and had plenty of room. Slightly noisey in the mornings due to traffic and had a few ladybirds crawling around on bed/window blinds when first checked in.

Good location and pleasant ten minute walk into the city. Staff personable and attentive. Triple room was cramped, no wardrobe but unnecessary table and chairs. Decor tired in parts and carpet was a light colour which showed every mark. Bathroom tiny and could have benefitted from a deep clean. Wasn't good value for money as expectations were raised by the photos on the website which were not met.

We just liked the hotel location and breakfast was reasonable. The room was dirty, dusty, the bedding seemed to have been washed, bathroom very small and not cleaned. The windows did not have good insulation, lots of light entering the room or the door or the window, a lot of noise on the stairs and knocking doors all night.
