The central location ; the staff; the liveliness
Location was amazing, morning staff were lovely and funny, freeview TV
Male on the desk at night was quite rude
Staff were terrific: friendly, helpful, professional. Location was excellent - close to everything I wanted to see. Breakfast was adequate. Bar was friendly. Had everything I needed, and would return but would likely request a larger room.
Although I knew I was paying for a small room, it was a bit smaller than I'd expected. Voices in the street at bar closing was sometimes disturbing late at night.
Great value for money in a central location with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. All the guests I met were very happy with the hotel.
There was a wardrobe but a set of drawers to put clothes in would help remove clutter from the floor.
location, staff, beds
very hot room, noisy at night
The proximity to the downtown core and the staff at the cafe are really the only saving graces of this hotel.
OMG where to start? The room was the smallest I've ever encountered. You walk into a 4x6 foyer with a small counter. Immediately off that is the bathroom (we'll get back to that). 1 Step past you are in the 'bedroom'. The bed takes up most of the room and leaves you 1 foot on either side on 2 feet at the end of the bed. Constantly stepping over our luggage was a pain. We were assigned room 301 altho we peeked into 303 that was being repainted and it looked like it had more room. WiFi is non-existant on the 3rd floor. The bathroom...oh my...the bathroom. Mold all thru the shower enclosure. Busted toilet seat. Taps weren't even attached to the sink. We do not have high standards but this was a joke.
Staff, upgrade that we were given, complimentary whisky, clean large room
too good audibility
Felt a very nice fun place to be. Staff were helpful and very accommodating. . Thank you
Continental brekkie... good ole bacon n sausage would've been lush
Location is excellent: close to all the main sights and venues and situated on a quiet street in the middle of it all. Price is very decent. But it's the staff who make this place. They're, without exception, welcoming, friendly, helpful and professional. They seem to like both their work and where they work. They are the hotel's best asset in my opinion.
I'd paid for a small single room and it was very small (although not necessarily by UK budget hotel standards). I would return - and intend to do so - but I would opt to pay a bit more for one of the larger rooms. The music from the bar - which is a very friendly place - was quite evident in my room, but it shut down at midnight, which was fine for me. Then for a while afterwards the sounds of people leaving echoed in the street, but that eventually passed. All fine for me, but others might find it a bit disruptive if trying to sleep earlier.
Modern clean rooms
Poor quality mattress and stair wells were like a brothel
cleanliness. poor service. the smell of pigeon poo from them windows. stairwell looks like a brothel
Great location, rooms very good value, brilliant wee bar with outside area
Central for the city, lovely area, friendly staff and nice bar...also a free dram of whisky, but only for one of the two guests. It was not expected , so suppose I can't complain. Nice continental buffet breakfast included. Quality items and just enough I thought.
Room was quite small but ok. Hotel was in process of being decorated, which I suppose was good, as some of the decor a bit worn looking. Did not put me off though as it was still very clean. Give both guests a free dram of whisky . . not just one per room ! :)
Dark decor in hallway
Great location, helpful staff, useful info, clean rooms with modern decor.
Room was incredibly hot! It was summertime but not exactly tropical and the temperature was stifling, thank goodness for the noisy fan that was provided....
The location was good and the area nice to stay in, the hotel offers a bar service but was too cold to stay outside.
Rooms very small and the corridors leading to them feels spooky!!
The vibe is amazing, staff friendly and it's very central.
Could do with a lick of paint and maybe new beds. Was a wee bit noise but then again it's the centre of Glasgow so not the hotel's fault.
Staff, amenities, cleanliness, location
The decor is dark, tired and shabby, they need to invest!
Lovely welcome at the hotel, seated outside area had a great feel to it . Staff happy for us to leave luggage to go sightseeing after checking out, which was much appreciated.
No reception on TV No toilet paper Walls dirty Not advised no cooked breakfast when booked Noisy outside until 3.30am
The staff was both helpful and friendly
Location, facilities, breakfast choice and price
Noise levels, comfort of bed and no tea only coffee available at breakfast.
Close to centre
Bed was comfy and I enjoyed getting caught up on Wimbledon. Also, good location to do shopping on Buchanan street. Staff were very polite and friendly!
