I chose not to stay at the Brunswick for the following reasons. The accommodation was poor. Poor lighting, almost eerie on the stairs to the room. The room was tiny which can be ok, but it was shabby, not at all like pictures on the website. There was no area to sit in apart from the restaurant. This felt like the kind of accommodation I would have tolerated when I was 20, the garish almost seedy red walls would have been amusing then. At this stage of my life it just looked tatty, badly decorated and not at all appealing.I Paid for my room and left. I was offered an upgrade but declined this offer.

I liked the location, the weekday price and the lack of both clutter and patterned furnishings. A few mosaic tiles had recently fallen off the wall below the sink.

Value for money. Rather dates furniture, set of lighting did not work in my room and rather noisy because of active bar/restaurant downstairs, which is open late.

I enjoyed the room as it had everything I needed, ironing board , iron , tv , kettle , comfy bed, the view into the bar was so funny. Really enjoyed people watching I cannot think of anything , maybe a 12 noon check out would have helped as it was a Sunday I checked out

The problem was more about the room we had. There were various items of disrepair which made it feel a little neglected but I do have to say there was a really positive laid back atmosphere around the hotel and cafe bar with a genuine feeling of friendliness which I really enjoyed

Trendy appearance to the hotel, nice location in Merchant city, Busy bar at ground floor. Staff were very nice. The bedroom floor was recently laminated and the walls painted. All right for 1 night and we got it cheap for £35. The bathroom was terrible - tiles coming off, the tap was loose, mould in the shower. The worst thing was that the vent did not work. Bedroom and bathroom were very small, but I was quite impressed how thay fir everything in such a little space. My partner found it a bit claustrophobic.

I liked the fact that it had a bad right downstairs-very convenient. The staff were also very chatty and eager to help. Would have preferred of they served food til much later, even if only a reduced menu for residents.

The hotel is placed in a very nice area and the staff is amazing. Steve from the restaurant is so receptive and everybody else were amazing. It's not a luxurious hotel, but good cost benefit. The bar is great too!
