Restaurant menu was very limited
The bull as awhole was nice
No tea seved with my breakfast could really have done with a cupa
Large and welcoming reception and sitting areas. Great breakfast. Comfortable beds and clean. We stayed over the festive season and the Xmas decorations were beautiful.
Clean, comfortable and great value for ££
No gym onsite
Decent sized room, bathroom and comfortable twin beds. Good breakfast choices. Quiet and peaceful ambiance, despite New Year parties ongoing. Plenty of parking. Easy to find on A40
Rather a long walk from reception to room but one lift was out of order so this may have added to the walk.
The staff are very helpful and even managed to open the restaurant for us after we missed the brunch. Very welcoming and easy going atmosphere.
We liked to spacious room, the comfy bed and the breakfast
We got cold and the heating was making too much noise so could not leave it on overnight (but the bedding was warm enough). The prices and reviews of the restaurant put us off so we walked into town and had dinner there.
Quiet location of room Breakfast choice
Distance from reception to room
The staff very friendly and helpful, good food and the rooms comfortable .
Cold draughts from the air conditioning in parts of the dinning room , lounges and our first bedroom.
There wasn't anything not to like. My stay was over the Xmas period and my three grandchildren joined me for Xmas Day breakfast. They also enjoyed the welcome, the food, and liked the room. Would definately book The Bull again.
We were upgraded for free to a superior room as the hotel said this would give us more space. The travel cot and linen provided for it were immaculate. The staff at breakfast were friendly and very welcoming of us and our so
We didn't have hot water to our shower but someone arrived in less than 5 minutes if us raising this with reception and we were immediately given keys to the room opposite and allowed to use the shower there (which was hot and powerful!)
Staff noticed our grown up daughter was unwell and took her up a tray of tea and biscuits! They were very helpful and sensitive.
Almost everything was perfect. The hotel had a lovely Xmas atmosphere. The room was exceptionally quiet and very well appointed.
A little disappointed in my poached eggs for breakfast, which tasted very strongly of vinegar (which I realise is added to the water when poaching) but had been added in excess. The eggs on dry toast had made the bread very soggy and I could not eat it. Otherwise breakfast items and staff attendance, excellent.
Breakfast Quiet bedroom Shower
No hot water for bath
The spacious rooms, the lovely Christmas decorations and the helpfulness of the staff.
The fact that subtitles are not available on the in-room TVs anywhere in the hotel. This discriminates against people with a hearing loss who need to use them to follow TV.
It was very noisy until 1.30am which was not good for s business hotel!
The location was very convenient for us.
We did not like the fact that our room was over the bar and it's noise. We did bring this to the attention of the staff. I felt the room was a bit damp and not used very often.
Good food, bar and common areas were spacious and comfortable as well as the rooms, free wifi, good service, easy walk from the train station but also had plenty of parking. Near a common so lovely for a jog or walk.
Nice comfortable room
Service a bit slow
Friendly staff. Nice rooms.
Bar was very expensive!
The hotel was in the exact location that we needed it to be.
the food: breakfast: greasy, tasteless British specialities and nothing else. dinner: horrible, all of us got sick staff: unprofessional, rude the hotel itself: old, and not in the "nice, traditional" kind of way
Good service Staff very friendly Great bar food Lovely room Altogether great service Truly a four star hotel
the room location in the hotel not comfrtable very difficult to access to the room, long way to the elevator.
The room was very very hot, even with all the Windows open. And this was november. The ventilation system was actualy blowing warm air. Reception told me to use the fan, but they should really fix this.
Comfortable & spacious Room was excellent value for money once we found it! Easy parking
Very complicated layout way too long to get to room. Dining Room horrible dated decor Bar noisy & uninviting The Old Pub was closed for dinner which would've been perfect w our 9yr old rather than an over priced bad bar snack costing £50 for 2 burgers & a glass of wine!! Breakfast could benefit from a cafetière & better decor as served in the dining room
