Friendly staff. Nice rooms.
Bar was very expensive!
The hotel was in the exact location that we needed it to be.
the food: breakfast: greasy, tasteless British specialities and nothing else. dinner: horrible, all of us got sick staff: unprofessional, rude the hotel itself: old, and not in the "nice, traditional" kind of way
Good service Staff very friendly Great bar food Lovely room Altogether great service Truly a four star hotel
the room location in the hotel not comfrtable very difficult to access to the room, long way to the elevator.
The room was very very hot, even with all the Windows open. And this was november. The ventilation system was actualy blowing warm air. Reception told me to use the fan, but they should really fix this.
Comfortable & spacious Room was excellent value for money once we found it! Easy parking
Very complicated layout way too long to get to room. Dining Room horrible dated decor Bar noisy & uninviting The Old Pub was closed for dinner which would've been perfect w our 9yr old rather than an over priced bad bar snack costing £50 for 2 burgers & a glass of wine!! Breakfast could benefit from a cafetière & better decor as served in the dining room
Not a lot .... I booked mistakenly for 2nd Nov via Booking .com but actually stayed a month ago so had to pay twice .... hotel would not help me in cancellation as it's in the term and conditions !
Non sympathetic reception staff....I was trying to open the front door (I had a baby push chair) and 3 staff just stood and watched with no offer of help.Other customer was also refused a meal in the restaurant because of the rules .... staff seem to have lost the plot at this hotel whereby profit margins come before customer care.
The food in the restaurant was below average and we were not even asked if we enjoyed our meal. Also, I had room service for breakfast in the morning, no mile delivered with cereal, toast brick hard and scrambled eggs were solid!
Location Staff mostly friendly
My room was a cheaper room and was dated - 1980s style probably
The customer service was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent (although I did only have breakfast). Lovely quiet room ensuring a good night's sleep. What more could I ask?
The food was ordinary and they got our orders all wrong.
When we asked to move rooms as the first room was too near the staircase and noisy this was professionally handled. We were presented with a more acceptable location. This made our stay.
The first room we were given was right near to the staircase to the restaurant. As a result all you could hear were footsteps and talking (every word could be heard). I would suggest this room is used as a changing facility for wedding guests only. Breakfast was a disappointing buffet, our personal choice has to be freshly cooked food rather than luke warm and we arrived at breakfast as soon as it was open so goodness only knows how long it had been standing. Quality of food wasn't great either.
Room, location, facilities and breakfast content.
No butter put out for use at breakfast (toast and marmalade) even by 8.30 on the Saturday morning; had to leave for a drive to Manchester and couldn't wait any longer. Also, I asked at reception if they were able to provide me with some cotton wool for a problem I had with my ear; the Receptionist made no effort to locate some and in fact gave an impression of being totally disinterested (as we were leaving on the Saturday morning).
Narrow corridors. Room was at the extreme end of the floor.
I liked the atmosphere and feel of the place. The location is good.
Some of the staff weren't that attentive. The food was sub standard, we've had better burgers in mc Donald's! The pull out bed, that we requested for our daughter came with a blanket inside a quilt cover, which I don't understand why they didn't use a proper quilt. I thought it was a four star hotel, this didn't give me that impression!
room was excellent, staff very caring, like the location
Noisy compressor for air conditioning outside window of 248
Location was good . restaurant food good. Generous bar area a good facility
Very small bedroom, while well appointed, simply did not have enough space to accommodate the furniture. Heating was not adjustable and room was very hot.
Food excellent for the party. We had room service for dinner and breakfast -- most efficient.. The bed was enormous and really comfy.
Our room was a long way from the restaurant.
Food was excellent and very good service for a very specific wedding menu Breakfast was excellent, hot plenty if it and fresh. The Rooms were very well appointed and have very comfortable beds. We were too hot but realised far too late where the AC switch was! Generally staff were very good and accommodating and the wedding arrangements and team led by Hanna were excellent
Shower was a bit weak and had no power Bar food was ok but service was hit and miss with too many new staff on together but generally ok. Early check in request was not done in time for arrival and although they say cant be guaranteed then why offer as a chargeable service. Find it disappointing considering the size if the hotel that this can't be done properly especially for wedding guests who are attending a wedding at the venue!
Most things that you would expect from a hotel of this standard
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Food wasn't as good as I expected.
A pleasant hotel in a pleasant setting. The new lounge and dining room are much improved and give views onto the attractive gardens. Refurbished rooms are excellent
Our visit was a disaster due to poorly trained and inattentive staff. Restaurant booking not passed on,order for snack not properly taken and badly served. Dinner for six completely spoilt by the kitchen serving the wrong meats with the wrong vegetables. Lifts not working or unavailable to guests for various reasons.
We booked because their website said they had real ale but they didn't so we had to walk some distance to find a proper pub
We liked the location, the garden around, the staff and the breakfast
Stayed here as a stop off for an early morning flight out of Heathrow. Have stayed here before due to close proximity of major routes and public transport
