The staff were friendly and the actual restaurant and food was good and value for money. The location was well suited. It wasn't clear from the advert it was an indian restaurant so limited choice of food. The bathroom needed really good clean from mould and general dirt. The decor was dated but also dirty, cracked and peeling throughout the building. This made you doubt the overall food hygiene. The breakfast was lacking cutlery, and generally poorly presented. For nearly 80.00 I would have expected more and will not stay there again.

There is an Indian restaurant in the hotel which served very good food Probably the dirtiest hotel We have ever stayed in. Looked like it had not been cleaned in years. Curtains fell off the wall. No toiletries and had to ask for towels and toilet roll. Breakfast was toast and fruit only. Beds hand no protectors. Heating in romm uncontrollable so had to leave windows open.

It had a bed No ability to pay by card. Did not feel clean. Was more like an indian restaurant with falicities to stay overnight, than a hotel with an indian restaurant attached. No staff to speak to in the morning when checking out.

The room was nice and warm, it was fairly close to the airport which was my main reason for staying. The breakfast was very limited to items it served, it could do with a good decorate.... This is a budget hotel so if you pay cheap dont expect luxury!

In a quiet location just 9 miles from Chelmsford, clean & tidy, pleasant staff. Excellent value for money, I had Dinner Bed & Breakfast for just over £50, I doubt anyone could find a better deal in Essex

Amazing value - I paid £29 for a night including breakfast. Despite a late check-in (12:30am) the staff were helpful. Location was good for me (I was heading to Thaxted the following morning) Breakfast was fine (for the price) - standard continental. General maintenance was lacking: Couple of broken tiles in the bathroom & Bedroom window would not close properly.

The shower was lovely, so powerful and relaxing The breakfast was abysmal, when i asked about the breakfast on the phone was told continental, with a selection of meats and cheeses...the reality was a pack of tesco everyday value ham and few slices of cheese. Also the tea and coffee facilities in the room were not good, however that could be down to personal choice

Price, location, although sign needed to be in view when approaching from Chelmsford.nice and warm, very helpful man at check in. If recommending would need to advise of dislikes. Felt it needed some TLC, basin tap needed attention, got soaked as the water gushed out suddenly, mug had a broken handle, and could had been burnt had I not noticed before lifting it up. At breakfast no one around, and no butter pats left by 08.30am.

This was my second time at this hotel and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. I am disabled and they couldn't do enough to make me feel welcome and comfortable. This is a budget hotel and not very luxurious, but you get what you pay for.

Quiet, affordable, former pub with rooms. Very comfy bed, warm room. All in all you get what you pay for: cheap but ok. Do not expect the Ritz. Excellent Indian Restaurant downstairs. Because of this I will probably stay there again. Fittings are tired, Bathroom chinaware clean but walls and other surfaces not as clean as I would have liked. Shower dripped (I moved the shower head to stop the noise). Poor attention to detail - trouser press still displays electrical fail label dated 2009. No bedside light, although central lights have time delay switch so you have time to get into bed before they go out. Breakfast poor. I had difficulty finding the light switches in the breakfast bar, and no staff around to assist. (By the way - the switches are hidden by the fridge!).

I stayed only one night, was surprised by the friendliness and availability to help by the staff! The room was super comfortable with private shower-room clean and smelled good and fresh. Breakfast was perfect. It was just like staying at a **** hotel but at a much better price. Loved and will recommend to anyone! That the wifi doesn't reach the room.

The staff members were absolutely fantastic. The food was lovely and suitable for lots of different diets. Everybody was very friendly and at the same time professional. The location is very convenient, as it is quite close to the airport and the hotel runs a shuttle service. The room was clean and pleasant. I will surely go back for my next business trip. I really recommend it. It's not expensive and it's worth the money. Everything was lovely. No negative feedback.

I cannot pick a particular subject apart from value for money The shower power came through the sink hot tap, it was difficult to turn on and stop the water bouncing straight out of the sink and all over the place. However the shower where you need pressure had none and I had to try and get under the shower head, it was difficult due to the slope at the back of the bath under the shower, perhaps the plumber who was working in the room just before I arrived got his pipes crossed, quite literally. I had a kettle in the room but no cups or glasses, what was it there for?

The wifi worked. The bed was comfortable enough. First and foremost, the airport shuttle is terrible! It was the main reason I stayed at this hotel, and it turned out to be not only more expensive than advertised, but also unreliable. I wasn't allowed to be picked up until just before check-in time, even to leave my bags and go to explore the area, and the morning when I flew out of Stansted, the shuttle was very late, with nobody at the front desk to call it or to find a replacement. I was frantically calling taxis to get to my flight on time when the shuttle finally arrived. I made a complaint to management, who did nothing, because I had already paid, of course. The room itself was fine given that it was a budget hotel, but it had no telephone, no hair dryer, and a kettle but no coffee or tea. The bathroom was not the cleanest I'd ever seen, though it wasn't filthy. I'd have been better off at the travelodge up the road.
