The bed was amazing and the room and en suite very comfortable. It was disappointing there were no bar facilities available other than the Spa bar during the day and at night there was no Main Bar nor availability of Bar food, only the Restuarant and a small cocktail bar was open. The flat screen TV was far too small for the size of the room. Our room had been refurbished but there was no toilet roll holder - is this the definition of minimalist? We also thought a small fridge would have been a good touch. |

having easy access to the town for shopping and walks along the river and a great pool to come back to for a relaxing swim - helped tire out our 4 year old!! |

The location I thought it was very overpriced for the standard of interior, and breakfast was not very good at all. |

The hotel is centrally located for business in Dumfries. It is very confortable and staff are courteous. Food is good and I enjoy the leisure facilities. I do not like that coffe at breakfast is self service from flasks. I much prefer to have that sserved hot to the table. I would also suggest that staff ask if help is needed with luggage and also about ordering a newspaper. |

Pool and steam room very good Shown to a table at breakfast then left. By looking around we we helped ourselves to everything, which was fine. 'Good morning' and a briefing might have been nice. Also, tea and coffee in flasks was a tad 'hostelish'but it was a good breakfast. |

Nice room and very close to amenities, good leisure facilities and staff very helpful. Breakfast choice was fantastic. There was a constant machinery hum throughout the night, (we were at back of hotel) don't know what it was but a couple of other people mentioned it. |

All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The leisure facilities were well laid out. The room was small and noisy as you heard everyone passing the room. Not enough storage in room. |

Liked the location and relaxed atmosphere aroynd the hotel.Staff all very helpful. The room we were allocated had a nice view of Dumfries. My daughter asked for wine to be in our room for our anniversary and was nicely presented with a card. Breakfast could be a bit chaotic.Eggs were not on display as part of the buffet and had to be ordered. On the occassion we were there hotel was busy so resulted in a bit of delay. Bed in room 11 is in need of replacing. |

The cairndale was a beautiful hotel and as we arrived quite late we hadn't eaten and the restaurant accommodated us, which was very much appreciated. The one thing I didn't like was the noise, we were in a room above a wedding reception, and as we had came from Northern Ireland to get married in Gretna Green on Saturday and after a 2 hour drive to the hotel from the boat, we where very tired, however due to the noise below us we still hadn't got to sleep at 2am, we both where very tired the next morning but didn;t bother to say anything, however if we had of been staying more than one night we would have been asking to move rooms. |
