all staff were very helpful and polite, the spa facility was very good and spotlessly maintained, the room we were staying in was of a far lower state od repair, infact it could really have done with a good refurbishment as far as the decoration was concerned, and the carpet could ceryainly do with a good clean/or replaced,I have already stated the above comments through the guest questionaire that was located in our room which was room 40 in the Birkbeck suite.

Good location, ample parking. Nicely fitted out room and modern bathroom. Liked having the leisure facilities although they were slightly small. Didn't like the mural painted in the foyer...sorry.

The hotel is clearly very popular. There were a number of sports teams also staying at the time we were there. There was a dinner/cabaret show on one evening; however, as our room was in a quiet part of the hotel we were not disturbed by the music. Breakfasts, served buffet style, had a very good choice of items, though we would have preferred to have fresh tea/coffee brought to our table rather than the flasks set out for guests to serve themselves. On more than one occasion the tea in the flask was at best lukewarm but a word to the staff meant fresh hot tea was brought through quickly. All of the staff we came in to contact with were efficient and polite. At the time we stayed the lift was out of order. The main staircase is not the easiest to ascend and descend owing to the lack of hand rails in sections. Not an issue for us but could have been for less able guests. Also, the steps from the carpark to the reception area would be difficult for the less able to negotiate. Perhaps the hotel could include something in their wording to suggest that guests arriving by car park at the front of the hotel to allow less able bodied to go straight in to the hotel and also drop off luggage before parking the car.

I have stayed at the cairndale a few times and have always found it to be a very good hotel. The leisure center is my favourite part of the hotel.but needs updating especially the changing rooms. The reason I gave the staff a low mark was the attitude of the attendant in the leisure center. Breakfast although there was a good selection could have been done with being a bit warmer.

Hotel staff are all very pleasant and helpful. Facilities in the hotel are excellent, with good car parking and the hotel centrally located for touring sw Scotland. The restaurant gave an a cosy atmostphere with good food and attentive staff. We did think the room we had, was more suited to single occupancy. For two people there were only three drawers and a single wardrobe and very little circulation space. However the bed was very comfortable and most importantly the room was always nice and warm, as was the hotel generally.

i thought the location was good ,and easy to reach the centre, the shops and handy if you choose to eat out. The facilities are very good i.e. swimmimg pool and gym ect. The reception is bright and pleasant.plenty room for free car parking a huge bonus. i thought the room (84) was very nice well decorated ,maybe a bit small , but the tv size let you down big time. I don't expect a 40inch screen but that must be the smallest flat screen i have ever seen ,also the postion is not good for veiwing. but the bathroom was fabulous what a shower, amazing.and i forgot to mention, you need to checkout the kettle it only works sometime, it cuts off before it boils.

Good central location with parking. Most staff very friendly. Swimming pool looked lovely, unfortunately did not have time to take advantage of it. Got turned away twice for breakfast. I appreciate there was some sort of competion going on at the time, but it would have been better if we had been given a time slot for breakfast instead of staff just keep waving us away.

“Everthing...Both my husband and I were very pleased with our stay . We thought your staff were just wonderful. especially the breakfast waitress, and Chef, who came out to speak to us. Having had 40 years Hotel experience I notice more than most guests, but still say you are fortunate to have such staff. Best Wishes, Eileen and John McGillivray.” Eileen, Castle Kennedy, Wigtownshire. |
